http://www.dvdfile.com/index.php?opt...=6316&Itemid=3 This has been discussed that have a fantastic Picture ,but to reality its not because of HD-DVD failure specs. So soft exists everywhere.... Video: "The films theatrical aspect ratio of 2.40:1 is presented in a nice high definition transfer compressed with the VC-1 video CODEC. Since the film and its supplements are split across two discs, affording a high bit budget for the video and audio, I was expecting a spectacular presentation. What I found was good, but not spectacular. I must mention that I viewed this film immediately after watching Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer and The Day After Tomorrow, two Blu-ray Discs that herald Fox’s return to high definition. The differences are dramatic. Perhaps it’s the limitation of HD DVD’s bit rate, or perhaps I was seeing limitations in the film elements. I can’t be sure. I can only report that this presentation is a tad soft in comparison. Both Alexander and The Day After Tomorrow were released in 2004, so print age and film stocks are contemporaries. And yet, even though Alexander’s finely grained textures are quite good, when comparing the two Alexander simply isn’t as revealing. The same may be said for small object detail. But color reproduction is excellent, from the bright red armor adornments to the dramatically colorful Babylon, I was never disappointed. Flesh tones and Angelina Jolie’s mesmerizing eyes have hues that are very natural. The video dynamic range is quite good. I saw no white crush, but I cannot say the same about the other end of the video. Black levels do not reach down to the darkness of the letterbox bars. The transfer (or perhaps the original film - I cannot say) suffers from slight black crush that frequently masks shadow detail. For example, check the scene in which Alexander is wrestling with his voluptuous nude bride, Roxane (Rosario Dawson). Compared to the DVD releases, this disc is a revelation, but compared to other high definition discs, Alexander is merely good." AS you can see HD-DVD fans around the world ,HD-DVD is a Loosing format its better to be discontinued. Again because of HD-DVD we have the same quality on BD.For GOD SAKE WARNER DO DIFFERENT codecs.USE THE COMPLETE features of BD,Have a look on sony,Disney, and Lately FOX MOVIES.Shame on You.Stop cooperating BD like HD-DVD. So enjoy it my friends and if you Have any comments...... Last edited by Scorxpion; 10-13-2007 at 01:15 PM. |
