Question Who is using a PS3 or BD player WITHOUT HDTV?

Who is using a PS3 or BD player WITHOUT HDTV? Seems we had a few people here doing that.

Just wondering who you are, or if your friends are doing such a thing. They play just games, or games and movies?

So why is there no HDTV being used yet?

Simple, really. Although I'm a big HDTV nut (I'm actually helping develop some, uh, VERY high-end video equipment), I'm a poor one too. I'm also a gamer, and my girlfriend is even more of a gamer than I am, so we split the cost of a ps3 in anticipation of FF XIII. So I pick up the occasional blu-ray in anticipation of the day I buy a proper HDTV (I have an old 32" crt with s-video).

Yeah, a lot of anticipation there. *sigh*. I could afford a 720p LCD right now with little problem, but I need to get a better car first, and besides, I'd rather have a decent 1080p set. I'm betting on there being some huge Black Friday sales again this year.

I have my PS3 hooked to an Infoucs 4805 Projector which is only an ED 480p and the picture is great. My stand alone player is hooked to a 32" LCD TV.I have a 26" 1080i CRT TV in my bedroom and sometimes I watch Blu-Ray movies on that.Never have tryed watching Blu-Ray on a 480i display thoe.
Yeah I hope sometime in the future get a 1080p display but dont have the money right now.Plus all three of my displays are still working great.

X3.

I don't have an HDTV. But my dad has one at his place. So when I get a new movie I go over there and plug it up and we watch it.

As soon as the HDTV price drops, and I arrive in LA, I will buy a HDTV. I don't want to screw myself by wasteing money before I move, and I don't want to lug a 60" across the US.lol

you should stop buying blurays, since there is no benefit to getting them now, save for an hdtv. they will probably cost half as much by then, the same movies will still be there

Disagree. Better to be blu-ray capable now even without an HDTV, than to continue buying DVD's, which are already out of date.

When the HDTV day comes, they will have some movies to appreciate it with.

I don't have an HDTV, I use a projector. Have the Component going to a VGA converter box. Get 720p out of it and 59" of screen on my wall!

Getting a Sony next year.

Im still using my 27" Sony Wega CRT for now..... looking at LCD now but waiting for the best to be built as specs are changing constantly each year.... eg: 120hz and 60 hz frame conversion..... Also has to have 1.3a HDMI and be digital excessable as in 2009 all tv signals will be only digital.....

Im waiting for the time being.... Its getting harder to hold off... but Im waiting !

my buddy is using a 19" crt but plans on buying a new tv this weekend. I'm going to buy him 300 and maybe another title on blu so that he will become addicted--is that wrong of me? Causing a Young father of two to become addicted to blu?
