I dunno if this title will suffer the exact same fate as The Rocketeer, being itself labelled an "anniversary edition" without any special features whatsoever...
![]() In that case, you'll have to give that to the executives at Disney: soon, you won't need any special features. A simple 15-minute-worthy Photoshop job to add the "anniversary edition" logo and voilà, you have an anniversary edition completely devoid of its meanings... and for the exact same price. That's what I call evolution... (can you smell the sarcasm?). Pretty soon, you'll have to resurrect the old VHS format and have the "Nostalgic Anniversary Edition" Disney will pull out for $50 a pop. ![]() And even though it's out of place for this thread, why is there still Second Screen blu-rays around??? I make it a point not to buy ANY movie featuring this worthless app instead of putting ALL the features on the same disc... that's not evolution, that's marketing. Not that they couldn't put it all on the disc, it's Blu-ray... ah well, I'll have to stop buying these before they get the 2k or 4k players... ![]() ![]() |

Another one of these Anniversary Editions? So far, everyone Disney has released hasn't really been worthy of an Anniversary Edition, or at least not in my mind. Where are the extras? Where is the quality video transfer? The good news is that they have been rather inexpensive for the most part, meaning I will pick it up at some point. The fact remains, why put the 'Anniversary Edition' label on it if all it is, is simply another catalog release? At least Disney hasn't screwed up the transfers on any of their animated movies yet.

I'll get it day one. I know Payton was nuts but her (DeMorney) and Julianne Moore held up the movie. The family itself who we are suppose to root for were uninteresting and bland. Soloman, the handyman, annoyed me - and they should have figured out a better ending for the Clair and Payton battle. Instead of brining in Solomon of all people to annoy us for the last 5 minutes and Payton keeps hitting him.

Looked at it tonight and thought it was a pretty nice upgrade. Nice and filmic. Arachnophobia on the other hand... I'll be really interested in reading the reviews. The black levels are so elevated that all blacks are actually light gray.
