Default Logitech Z-5500 Digital

So I got my New samsung Blu-Ray player home from the store today and I set everything up and then to my suprise I get no audio out of the optical Cable. When i play the system through the tv using my Hdmi calbe for audio I can hear everything.

So my 2 questions are

Should this work with the samsung blu-Ray Player
http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/pr...CONTENTID=9486

and out of all the audio outs on the back what is the best to use, the 5.1 the coax digital or the optical.

Please hlep me because for 1000 dollars I have to use the surround or it goes back.

I'm pretty sure the optical is the best input to use if you have a reciever and speakers, otherwise I'm not sure it matters if you're hooking everything up to the tv.

normally it wouldn't matter if the tv is on or not but I still get nothing. I have it on bit stream already. And the system works fine when hooked up with the digital coax. But I get nothing out of the Optical. The red light is coming out of both ends and when i hook it up to my 360 it works fine there. I have no idea what the deal is.

right now the only way you're going to get uncompressed audio to playback from your BR player is through 5.1 analog out. BTW congrats on your new purchase!

So far the picture on the machine is amazing through the hdmi, I only looked at ultravilote and underworld and I am impressed even more so then when i watch my hd tivo so I have no clue where some of the reviews are coming from.

Go here, these guys are pretty fair on the reviews:
http://bluray.highdefdigest.com/
if you got to avsforum or HDTVoice.com the majority is Anti Sony, Pro HDDVD. you won't get unbiased info on those forums. The Blu-Ray forum is actually the least Biased (despite it's name) i've seen.
