Dah meant to put a slash between 7 and 1, guess Beta Man or Diesel can fix it later. I think the record is for best Rated R comedy movie opening, not sure.

Pretty close.

Smashing records and setting off early holiday fireworks, Seth MacFarlane's Ted debuted to a massive $54.1 million at the domestic box office -- the best showing ever for an original R-rated comedy.

Its for the highest-grossing opening for a non-sequel, R-rated comedy.

Even if this film isn't your cup of tea, it's never a bad thing when a R rated comedy does well at the theater. It helps other R rated films get made since studios will be less hesitant to release them

Besides, if you aren't a Family Guy fan (I love the show), I would imagine this film may not be for you anyway

Am I overlooking it or is Seeking a Friend for the End of the World MIA? I thought it was fantastic. It's too bad not many other people felt the same way.

I liked it but it performed poorly even in its opening weekend. so this week they actually cut down its showtimes.

No, it's that the annual late-June Pixar didn't deliver this year--and there was no Big-Studio Michael Bay Blockbuster till after July 4--so the Frat Pack comedy looked around, and said, "Hey guys, check it out, the coast is clear! Where'd everybody go?"

(The ads promoting Seth McFarlane as "Family Guy: the Movie" didn't keep the cult-zombies away from an opening-weekend pilgrimage of "duty", either...Not exactly the stuff of which second weeks are made.)
