United Kingdom Adrenaline Rush aka Quick aka Kwik 3D Blu-ray (2011) [Region B Locked]

Have any UK punters noticed this in the 3D section of HMV for £9? I took the plunge, being a fan of Asian action movies and i'm really glad i did. The movie has a lot of good humour and some really great action. Good looking production values also. Unfortunately the 3D is a bit of a let down as it's really mild and even though the movie has a lot of shots clearly designed for 3D, they never really leap out at you. Don't get me wrong, the 3D is there and you can see it, but i just wish they'd pushed it more.

Anyone else checked this out? I believe it also goes by the title 'Quick'.

Has ANYONE else watched this movie yet? lol I'm so curious as to other people's opinions. The 2D US version (Quick) got a fairly positive review on here. It's still going for less than £10 in HMV stores. Really want to hear some other feedback on what people think. Like i said, i enjoyed the movie quite a bit, but found the 3D a little lacking.

I watched this just over seven years ago and wasn't impressed, though it's a Korean film it's a Chinese conversion I think, not much better than an autoconversion. At the time I thought it was a German autoconversion, maybe it is.

The film was throwaway but entertaining enough, a bit like Premium Rush crossed with Speed. I couldn't recommend the 3D version though.

Yeah, the 3-D on Adrenaline Rush sucked donkey balls. I'd recommend avoiding even if you like donkey balls. I finished watching the movie in 2-D.

You can add this to the crap pile as well:

The Korean wave phenomenon does not apply to 3D.

South Korea was highly influential in spreading native 3D technology throughout Asia during it's brief boom post-Avatar, notably in training Tsui Hark's staff for 3D production on Flying Swords of Dragon Gate. Mr. Go (2013) is the one available, fantastic 3D movie from Korea, and it's disappointing we are unable to watch KAFA's native 3D productions and KOFA's Silver Age 3D holdings. I agree that Korean conversions aren't much to speak of (neither are Chinese conversions). We are about to watch one, Dawn of the Dead (1978), in limited U.S. theaters at the end of October though. Ultimately, their film industry was unable to sustain the increased production costs associated with 3D long term, but I guarantee there are several unseen native 3D gems out there waiting to be snapped up by some indie boutique Blu-ray label.

Odd, I enjoyed the movie and found the 3D serviceable. If you are a 3D and Korean movie fan, a good film to own IMHO.

A Better Tomorrow 2012 though, agree on that. Ouch...

As far as I can tell, neither Quick (2011) nor A Better Tomorrow 2K12 (2010) played in 3D in Korean theaters. Is there a stereo conversion company listed in the credits?

I don't think Quick played in China theatrically at all, and I don't see any obvious 3D conversion credits. A German auto-conversion for disc is my best guess (same goes for A Better Tomorrow, 2010), but I haven't seen the 3D and could be wrong. I wouldn't think of these two as 3D movies or representative of Korea's 3D output.

I've never managed to sit thru an auto conversion so I'm surprised at that. I'll have to check it again on the projector.

Make Your Move (2013) is another live-action USA/Korean co-production that played theatrically in Korea.

Oh yeah, with BoA.... paired with Derek Hough. Recommend the region-free NL release:

I purchased it as a dual pack a couple years back. It was from an Amazon reseller but I'm not sure if it was this specific one (DaaVeeDee).

The other movie, Wild for the Night, is still sealed in shrinkwrap. Want to buy it?

Mr. Go? LOL I'm waiting for an old time 3D collector from blu-ray.com to die and will scavenge his estate sale.

Mr. Go 3D was only available from Hong Kong and is now out of print and hard to find. It's the best one.

Make Your Move is more American than Korean but does have good native 3D too. It's an alright dance film in the same cheesy vein as the Step Up series. The Region B version is easily available at Amazon Germany. I own it.

Decent prices on the French version at eBay. Metropolitan is usually the culprit for forced French subs though. I don't know about this disc.
