At least they are in now even if I think they both belong in the worst buy for Blu-ray players out there.

The new SONY BDP-S2000ES might have been a great machine, all the video goodies, all the audio codecs EXCEPT it does not decode or pass through a bitstream of dts-HD Master Audio, only the dts Core. At the price of $ 1,299.00 it should 'walk on water'. The profile is not 1.1. So, in my opinion, this is out and I await one that does it all. Who will have it ???

No profile 1.1--- okay, don't agree with the choice but ok.. but no DTS HD-MA is just dumb, considering all the Fox movies coming out with it...

Why spend $1300 on a system that will cripple the sound on a large number of my movies?

Well..it's like the computer thing back in the 90's (I did it too!)..Every "week" another new format, feature, etc, was coming out. Everyone just had to go out & get the latest & greatest. I had NO Blu-Ray player at all..so, since I bought the 52" XBR5 LCD TV..& was happy with it...figured I'd go with another Sony for a Blu-Ray player, & bought the S500. Could I have waited for a new "Profile 1.1 player ?..Yup..Could also just wait for the 2.0, or 2.1..etc player(s) too. When the 1.1's come out, the buzz about waiting for the 2.0's will be around then. I'll just update mine to 1.1 when it's available..DTS-HD MA..vs what mine has now..would pretty much take a spectrum analyzer to tell any difference...
