I've done some research to spot my problem but, so far, I seem the only one with this problem. Whenever I watch a blu-ray movie with the PS3, I loose the image for a fraction of a second, the screen turns black (the sound is not affected) and it is random. There is no pattern. It can happen once or 2-3 time during the movie. Needless to say that it's very annoying. Otherwise, everything is perfect (image and sound). I've tried several things but to no avail.
I bought the receiver so i could enjoy my blu-ray movies in uncompressed sound. When i do so, I set the HDMI audio output format on LPCM. Here is my set-up : HDTV : Sony kdl-40xbr3 Receiver : Denon avr-3808CI PS3 60 gb (bought only to watch blu-ray movies) Cables : 2 x 4 ft. Monster M850 HDTV HDMI cable The PS3 is connected with HDMI in the HDMI #2 on the receiver (HDP) and the receiver is connected in the TV with HDMI. It's been a week since I have the receiver and the problem occurs since then. Before, the PS3 was hooked by optical connection to a Denon avr-1506 and the HDMI was connected directly in the TV and I NEVER had a problem whatsoever. At first, I tought it was the cables but I exchanged them for two new one. I have updated the firmware on the receiver - no change; I have the latest firmware on the PS3 (1.93); I have done a reset on the PS3 (on standby mode hold the start button for 5 seconds and recalibrate) - no change; I've tried several settings changes on the receiver : put i/p scaler to off, set the resolution to auto or 1080p, turn off auto Lip Sync, put the input mode to either auto or HDP, put video select to source or HDP, put the video convert on or off, etc. I tried every possible combination of the above with no luck. Any help would be welcome. Thanks ! |
