DTS on HD discs: kudos to Lionsgate and Paramount

I saw for myself today that ALL Paramount HD-DVDs and ALL Lionsgate Blu-Ray discs have DTS 5.1 and DTS 6.1 on them.
I hope Paramount will give their Blu's the DTS treatment as well.
I will try to find out from Paramount today.

I hope Lionsgate figures out what went wrong with their DTS track on their first batch of discs and correct that for the next round. I am assuming its the software and not the player, at this point.

Until 50GB discs come along, I would rather see no lossless track and hope they use more space for the video to avoid sub-standard releases like some of the first batch of Sony titles. I'd rather compromise audio than video.

I'm not really sure what your getting at. 1080p Means 1920 x 1080 pixels one frame displayed in full p (progressive), however some so called 1080 (p or i) camcorders are 1400 (or there about) x 1080p, however in HD-DVD or Blu Ray this is indeed 1920 x 1080p. This is the video. This has no imapct on the audio stream. Like with DVD (only moreso) the audio is totally independant from the Video. Roll on HD-DTS od HD-Dolby

I was responding to Innerloop who was saying they would rather have compromised audio than compromised 1080p video, to which I was responding that the audio has been left behind for far too long and as long as the picture is in 1080p then there should be no excuse for not putting a lossless audio track on there as well.
DTS-HD can provide 7.1 192/24 audio and that's what I am looking forward to.
Camcorders mean nothing to me and we're talking about movies here anyway.

Dolby Digital Plus

Standard DTSES (if space is limited)

I'd put DTS 96/24 ahead of DTS:ES

Peter Gabriel's Play (DVD Video) is all in DTS 96/24 and it's brilliant.
