Took a total of about 35min or so and went very smoothly. But I've also got a pretty quick notebook. Some people are taking 2hrs for the install

Now I need an external HD for Time Machine and so I can get a lot of this stuff off my notebook. Its a 160GB HD with only 42GB remaining

I'll wait at least a month or two. It was glitch city when Tiger came out... and where's the Blu-ray support, Apple?

The only thing I am not loving is Stacks. I don't like that the folder icon changes to the first file or application you have in a given stack. Still waiting on new iMac drivers for the ATI issue, otherwise, it is great. I find programs launching much faster than Tiger. Can't really be happier. A great job by Apple.

It took around... hmm... 30 to 40 minutes for me too as well. Everything went very smoothly.

It's a PowerMac G4 1.25GHz Dual with 2GB of ram... not bad for a 5 year old computer. Eh? It's still an amazing machine, even to this day. It still runs like new.

I'll have to get used to the new folder icons. Not really a fan of it at the moment. But man, Spaces is pretty neat!

It took over an hour for me to install it. Did you skip the verification of the install disk?

No I didn't skip it. Took about 15-20min for verification and another 20-25min for installation.

I'm happy with it. Though there is one disappointment...

I can't use video/backdrop effects on iChat because I don't have an Intel processor.

#@$*!

I guess it's time for me to consider a new Mac.

Yes, upgrade! haha

The backgrounds in iChat do not work all that great anyways. It thought my dark brown hair was part of the background so my hair BECAME the background and I was instantly bald haha. There is also a lot of lag in iSight.

How's you customize the dock color? Yes I am a Mac newb. How do you take a screen shot? Is that an AOL icon on there?! Yikes.

Its an AIM icon because I was trying to do video chat with the girlfriend when I went away for a bit and her Windows XP AIM wouldn't work with iChat, so we tried AIM, that wouldn't work, then tried Yahoo messenger and that worked. Trust me, I don't have dial up

Taking screen shots I learned from Aaron on here; He's my Mac guru To take a screen shot, or partial screen shot you go to "Preview" which you can find it by searching in spotlight at the top right of your screen. Then click "File" then "Grab" and pick whatever you want. In order to put it into Photobucket or any other online gallery you'll need to change it to a bmp or jpeg file because Preview saves them as .tiff

1. The colors are in System/Library/CoreServices
2. Then right click "Dock" and click "Show Package Contents"
3. Then go into Contents/Resources
4. The 5 files you're going to change are; Frontline.png, scurve-l.png, scurve-xl.png, scurve-m.png, scurve-sm.png

You would probably want to make backup copies of those, but I didn't. You can double click on them, all they are is pictures.

5. Take those 5 files and customize them in a photo editor of your choice. I used "Paintbrush" for my first time. Or you can download the black dock that I have now here; http://www.mediafire.com/?1vprwelidjd

6. Next you want to replace those files with the ones you just downloaded. Simply drag and drop. The computer will tell you that you can't do it. (If you cannot replace all of them, because it would only let me do 4 of them for some reason, just delete the old ones and drag and drop the new ones in and then it will ask for your password again.)

7. Click "Authenticate" and type your password.

8. After all 5 files have been replaced go to "Terminal" which you can find by searching in spotlight again.

9. In Terminal you're going to type "killall Dock"

**BAMM You've got a nice new dock **

Also, remember that you don't have to download the black dock. You can make it red if you so choose.

For those that don't own an Apple mac or book, Leopard has been hacked to work on PC
