Has there been Oliver Stone movies been released on Blu-ray yet? - Blu-ray Forum

Oliver Stone isn't like George Lucas right? He is not holding his movies back?

Because, I really want 'Platoon' on Blu-ray.

Now I am not sure who owns the distribution rights to this movie.
It might be 20th century Fox or Sony pictures, not sure though.

The original distibuter was 'Orion', dunno who bought this company.

Alexander 'theatrical cut' came out on BD about a month ago.

According to Moretonbay Wallstreet is coming February 5th.

And Nixon has been announced, too.

Coming later in 2008, by which time we hopefully won't have HD DVD to kick around anymore, kick around anymore.

I'm dying for Nixon. Even the newest SD release was a non-anamorphic port of the Laserdisc, and honestly one of the worst major studio DVDs to ever come out PQ wise.

Yes indeed! And this is why we need the Director's Cut out on Blu-ray.

Good to hear... good to hear. Hopefully they've done some restoration with it (unlike the recent DVD re-issue [#3??] that's apparently pretty sucky).

Platoon is at the top of my wish-list for unannounced Blu-ray titles (along with 1989's Batman).
