Already?! Don't get me wrong, I love the show, but... there is absolutely NO reason to pre-order this now. It won't be out until... what?... February 2014? I don't get the inflated price point, either. It would never be as high as $56 on release week, Amazon will never see that money, so why start so high in the first place? I'll wait until it shows up in my GoldBox (and since I have nearly a YEAR, it will) and then I'll lock in an order. Thanks OP.

This isn't really new. Most TV shows get the DVD/BD released about a month before the new season starts. It's just longer since Game of Throne's seasons are shorter than most shows. But I agree it does suck waiting!

I think it will come out sooner on blu ray then before due to all the piracy . I think the mini series Bible was smart to come out right after it gave on tv. The truth is waiting a year when the hd masters are already done isnt smart.

I actually agree with this. I realize there are other reasons to possibly wait (such as other digital distribution methods getting a head start over physical media), however waiting for an excessively long time could honestly be considered a loss of potential sales given that fans of a series aren't really going to let the publisher of physical media get in the way of their enjoyment of the series.

The difference here is that The Bible is a mini series and doesn't have another season to promote. It's good marketing to release the Blu-ray a month before the new season is to come out.

I do agree that it makes no sense for Amazon to charge such high prices right away when we all know it will be significantly cheaper by release day, but at the same time it doesn't matter since we won't be paying $56 anyways. Lastly, you're welcome. |

I would say that it will be at least $35. Maybe Target will do the $30 price again.
