Panasonic DMP-BD30 Release Date Information - Blu-ray Forum

Since I'm assuming there are those here who are dying to know when the 30 is being released, is there anyone here who has an idea of its arrival?

Ive read and gone through the other threads, but seeing dates from Oct 31 to Nov 12 to Jan 2008...we might as well gather all news and rumors about dates on one thread to keep everyone updated.

I'd hate to return my 10AK if it doesnt come out til Jan 2008, esp. since the 30 days runs out on Nov 4!

...cant be blu-less for 2 months.

My Home Theater store is in Florida, and our Panasonic Distributor (AVAD Florida) when I called to place an order for this player, large enough to sustain us through the holiday season, they informed me that this player, the DMP-BD30K will not be available until January 2008 at the earliest. I went ahead with the order on the if-come they are wrong. It makes no sense to miss entirely the Christmas Holiday shopping season, especially with the manuevering that Toshiba, Wal-Mart, KMart are doing right now through the end of the year.

After getting off the phone with him (AVAD) I sent an email directly to the VP of Marketing and Sales for Panasonic USA and asked them for clarification and confirmation on when this player will be in the marketplace (the stores). I await their response. [Jim]

Everything I read when the press release was done 2 days ago said availability in stores on 11/12. Nothing about a delay until January but if that is the newest date, that would suck big time.

Here's the latest that I found...
Panny's website has it up for pre-order now. "shipping in late Nov" so that is the first I've seen that verbiage.
I called Vann's who is an authorized Panny dealer and has it up on their website for pre-order. Guy there confirmed 3.5 weeks until available which coincides with Panny's site.

Edit: Question...would ordering it direct from Panny get me the player any sooner than a retailer like Vann's? What has been people's experience with this?

This is currently available for immediate shipment from Circuit City. I just ordered one.

Holy crap patrick. I just ordered one as well. Express shipping...I should have it on Friday!
Before placing order, I called Vanns (I preordered it from them on Monday) and asked them if they had any new info on availability since CC was shipping now. CSR said nope, still says in their system sometime between 11/10-12/8. I sure hope this CC order goes through fine and I'll have my new player on Friday. :fingers crossed:

Order one myself at 8:45AM today, and now it says "Shipped". Got a tracking # and should get it tomorrow!

You guys are getting "shipped" notices already with delivery tomorrow? When you placed the order, did it estimate delivery for tomorrow or did it say 11/9? Just wondering if there is a chance I could get mine tomorrow. Thanks.

Edit: Ok, just went into my order status and it shows estimated ship date for tomorrow and delivery on Friday. I must have placed my order after their cutoff time for it to be shipped today. Oh well.

It's being sent by FedEx with an estimated delivery date of tomorrow, with a single day shipping charge. As I recall the shipping charge was about $27.

I just got off the phone with circuit city and its not in any of the stores but it is in stock for online purchase.

Best Buy had an original in-stock date for the BD30 as 10-14-07. Now, normally I give at least 3 to 4 weeks from the in-stock date to actual arrival of any unit at the stores, but somehow I get the feeling we may not see this unit until the end of November or sometime in December.

I just ordered one from Circuit City. Now I have to save up money for a receiver that can decode Dolby Digital Plus, Dolby TrueHD, and DTS HD-MA.

Oh man. I'm so tempted to hit the "buy" button at CC. I keep saying I need to wait, but oh man. I bet by the end of the night I'll have ordered it. Darn it. Guess nobody is going to get Christmas presents from me this year!
