Stacked Discs

Some distributors are now using cases that stack discs instead of placing them on individual trays. This has been known to cause scratches and other problems, sometimes rendering the discs unplayable.

Amazingly, big studios are doing this, not just third-party companies releasing B-movies.

I would encourage everyone to contact the relevant studios to ask them to stop this practice.

THS was able to come up with a solution, though it involves being lucky and buying a movie that comes with a certain type of 3-disc case and then putting a double-sided flipper tray inside that 3-disc case, thereby creating a custom 4-disc case. Here's his relevant post:

Or, if you get lucky. You can find a Viva Elite 2-Disc case that has hinges on the spine for a 2-Disc flipper door thingy. I bought the 3-Disc of "West Side Story" for the wife and it had a single-disc flipper door and the two opposing hubs. I then transferred the discs and artwork from my "Avengers 3D: Target Exclusive" set. Now it's a slim 4-Disc case. It fits perfectly with no bulging whatsoever, and therefore my sleeve fits beautifully.
