I know this is completely off topic, but I'm writing this anyways, because i am incredibly pissed off at Direct TV. Two weeks ago, a Direct TV truck totaled my car. At the accident scene they were naturally polite. Both parties decided it was best not to turn it into insurance. However, when i followed up and called the guy the next day, he yelled at me for not faxing me my registration. First, he never asked to see my registration or for me to send it to him. Second, when i asked him for his card he said he "didn't have any on him". So, I did what he asked and sent it in to prove i was the owner of the car. Two days passed, not a word from him, not even a "we're getting everything worked out" curtiousy call. So, I called him up and politely asked him what the situation was. He yelled at me again and told me that I needed to chill out and he had more important things to do. I asked to be called back by the end of the week (it was wed.) to at least know what was going on. He called me on Fri. at the end of the day and said he wasn't sure what was going on. So, on Monday I called his supervisior and asked what was happening. He apologized for the inconvience and said that this should have been taken care of a lot faster, I thanked him, and he said he would get right on it. Well, I didn't hear from that guy for a week and today I got a call from an insurance company saying that a claim had been filed and they were sending out an appraiser. They didn't even have the respect to tell me that they were turning it in to insurance. Moral of the story, its this type of tollerance for rudeness and disrespect for people and their time and money that allows the world not to collapse on companies like Toshiba, Paramount, Microsoft, and now Direct TV. If you boycott Toshiba, Microsoft, and Paramount for obvious reasons, you should probabaly add DirectTV to the list. My housemates and I actually decided about a month ago that we were getting DirectTV next year, but this morning we decided that they will not be receiving our business.
