Default Tosh 37" 37X3030D 1080p / HDMI 1.3 quezzie

Howdies - new to the board so feel free to flame for asking stupid questions

I've just bought the Toshiba (yes - start the insults coming) 37" 37X3030D 1080p based on the looks (drop dead sexy), reviews (well rated everywhere) & price (600 quid for 1080p is not to be sniffed at).

Anyways.... does anyone have / rate this TV... also listed as one of the 'cons' is no support for HDMI 1.3... am I really going to notice a difference by not having 1.3 support bearing in mind that this TV is for bedroom use only (looking to trade up eventually my Epson TW10 for a 1080p job for the lounge).

Thanks

Welcome to the forums!

I think Toshiba makes GREAT televisions and projectors. Unfortunately they are overshadowed by their HD DVD involvement, but whatever. Good choice for a 1080p TV.

IMHO, for a bedroom TV, HDMI 1.3 isn't necessary. Do you have surround sound?

Thanks for the feedback

I do have 5.1 (Logitech Z680 5.1 THX certified) in the lounge (where the projector is.... in fact it also runs my DJ setup via a phono to minijack lead)... but was gonna rely on the Tosh's built in SRS WOW for audio in the bedroom.. it says it mimicks 5.1 ? Not sure how mind ! lol
