Default Gas Prices?

I know this is way off topic,

I bought gas on Saturday and on Sunday it went up $0.12

Does anyone knows why Gas prices in the US have went up about $0.25 in the last week?

Higher gas prices mean less money for Blu-rays.

Last i heard teh barrel was trading for about 95 bucks. Could be the cost, since now winter is coming and refineries and switching to produce more heating oil than gasoline, and ussually the US tries to build and bigger reserve on the winter. I feel your pain.

Well other than barrel trading, it would be nice to have a good reason why. I guess it could because of winter, but it still hurts. Higher prices means less money to buy Blu-rays, gifts for the holidays, etc..

In my areas the price of gas is at a record high, I never since it this high.

Been tracking gas prices for a while. I usually take the futures price of wholesale unleaded * 15 percent and add the .40 cents tax (for my area).
I calculate for me that gas will rise to $3.17, from the $2.99 its at now.

People wonder why gas prices are so high...

Take a look around you as you're driving down the road. See all those GMC Yukons (31 gallon tank), Chevy Tahoes, Ford Expeditions with one or 2 people, all those pickups (Toyota Tundra, Ford F250, etc) with some 20-something punk wearing a baseball cap...how often do you see them actually hauling anything?

They are the ones raising your prices.

I'm sorry, but it's worldwide demand that has increased gas prices. The growing wealthy and middle classes in Asia especially are buying more and more vehicles that demand gasoline. Also, if you take a long look back at gasoline prices during the Carter administration and adjust for inflation, you'll find that they are just about right on, AND, the tax on a gallon of gas is much higher just about everywhere. Gas remains dirt cheap...much cheaper than a gallon of drinking water or a small cup of coffee beverage. If you want cheap gas, move to Venezuela, the land of the free.

Not just that. It's the huge increase in unnecessary gas guzzlers on the road.

Look at Europe, hardly any SUVs or pickups. Perhaps European pricing will get these idiots who buy the biggest monster on the lot to get a clue.

I consider the petroleum supply sort of a war with the Chinese. If we don't buy gas for three dollars a gallon, the Chinese will buy it instead, for less money and use it in a less clean way. Everytime I dump $50 into my gas tank, I feel like I'm fighting in the trenches.

If you think gasoline is expensive, go and try to buy some copper for your home plumbing. I used to piss and moan over the dreaded PVC pipe in my house, but no longer.

You wouldn't have one of those monsters in your driveway by any chance?

I remember reading a company got in trouble with the federal government for taking pennies and melting them to make copper products. A penny is worth more than 1cent now.

If you've ever had a collision with a deer (suicidal terrorist) you would never drive a vehicle that you did not have to step up into.

We have two now.

The problem is the demand in Asia. The chinese are KILLING the world. They are driving the cost up of quite a few commodities including oil, lumber and steel.
Hmm, what do they have in mind?

Consumption of fuel in this country has steadily grown in the past 50 years however, with refineries running at full capacity for over 15 years the output has remained relativily constant.

We are getting squeezed by the terrorist, er I mean the middle east oil cartels and the chinese.
