I wouldn't mind betting that Black Hawk is waiting for BD50.

Black Hawk downs release date was changed to 11-21-06 sometime ago. HighDef Digest obviously never caught the memo as they had it listed as comming out tomorrow up until today..lol

bestbuy.com has had the 11-21-06 release date for BHD for some time now.

You should know by now what my response to this will be:

Good.

Delays mean: Put it out when it's ready and can be done right.

I'm also surprised Peter didn't catch that earlier. He's usually on top of news more than I am. But, Sony bumped those on their press site weeks ago.

I'm not sure where the November date comes from for Black Hawk Down. But, the way Sony is moving titles around, I wouldn't count on it. Either they're reworking some things or they're having problems with replication. No new date has been posted on Sony's press site. Actually their site is only updated through October currently. And even that month isn't complete yet. Hopefully, BD will have a strong fourth quarter like HD is planning. But, it sure doesn't look like Sony's going to be contributing a lot these next few months.

^^

Definitely.

It just continues to lend credence to that popular theory that some of us hold to which is: 4th quarter is when the "real" BD launch will actually happen.

We'll see...

we've had this date in our systems since a week after the other titles got moved, and bestbuy.com has the same date:

http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage....uct&id=1552250

not sure where they got it from, but i'd assume they didn't pull it out of the sky.

That may be their plan. Sony sometimes announces to retailers before their site gets updated. But, the way they move things around with BD, it's hard to trust that it won't change until it goes up on their press site. I've always found that to be true of DVD anyway. But, it hasn't proven 100% with BD so far.

I thought these delays were known to many... I guess I should post updates regardless if I think everyone knew of them or not.

Back on topic... I'm glad that Sony is finally deciding to not release stuff before its ready. I rather wait for releases than to have a crappy disc.

I had heard some rumors that Black Hawk Down was delayed but this was the first time I'd seen it mentioned on a Blu-ray news site. If we have members out there who can confirm definitively that a title has been delayed then I would appreciate them posting that info.
