Wow........I've only been there to find out stuff about HDTV and off-air HDTV antennas and they've been great. I never looked at the format sites.

This may explain why we're starting to get inundated with fanboy posters on our site...

If anybody comes over just trying to start trouble, just report the posts. The mods here are remarkably quick.

Yep, I reported a bunch, and most were banned within minutes.

I would also say, don't bother responding to them, just do as said above and it will get taken care of. They just want attention and to spread FUD usually.

It's really about time they did that.

Now the rabid fanboys have one less forum to shout from, hopefully we can keep them from banging the doors down over here.

The nonsense from both sides was getting out of hand.
They needed to do something to cool people off.

Finally nothing but bashing and fud from both sides. That will cool things down a bit on that forum.

The HD-DVD section was getting way out of hand. There was a thread today that I posted in saying that if PoTC was on HD-DVD there would be no framing issue cause they could use a firmware update and correct the framing. 1 out of 3 HD-DVD threads only say that BD sucks and HD-DVD is the superior format. Not to mention all the false information they were spreading. The BD section was much much calmer, still had some bashing going on, but not nearly as much as the HD-DVD section. But, when you are losing and dying that is how you act, desperate.

It's about time! The rest of AVS is NOTHING like the HD areas. Their projector forums have helped me research my last two projectors.

I still think part of the problem was with the way they let some of the insiders run wild. It set a terrible example for the rest.

You know, I don't believe the owners over at AVS have really ever figured out what's really going on in there.

They think it's just fanboy *****ing.

The admins in the HDM area are so enamored with "big hollywood/MS guy talked to meeee!!!!!!" that they refuse to see anything they do as wrong or potentially biased. I see this kind of thing all the time with other areas of fandom. It boils down to "Sure he's wrong/did something bad,but he's my friend so I'll gang up and attack you anyway"

I hope that the heads of AVS got a major wakeup call that lead to this, and that someday their HD media area can come back and be like the other 90% of the forum.
