Default No Blu, No Wal-Mart

I just happened to stop by Wal-Mart today just to see if they've expanded there blu-ray section just like a few people have posted lately and since there has been alot of great releases lately to. So when I get to electronic section what do I see. NOTHING!!! Not one single blu-ray movie. So now thats 2 Wal-Marts next to me that don't have any. There is another one 30 min away. Maybe I should go and see what they're doing.

It's hit or miss i think.
I have 2 walmart's in my city, they are maybe 10min apart.
1 of them has almost every BD release.. they have 4 shelves full of blu-ray and down to 2 shelves for HD-DVD.
The other Walmart had 3 blu-ray titles, and nothing for HD-DVD.

I didn't ask anybody. The ladies that were there looked like they wouldn't have a clue of what I'm talking about. Good news is there was no HD-DVDs also.

Can you imagine buying your first $99 HD DVD player but no movies to play on it?

I may have to start a boycot to.

My WalMart use to have 90% BlueRay and 10% Dummy discs. Then it went to 50/50.

This weekend with all the madness over that A2 deal it's gone to about 40% BlueRay and 70% dummy discs.

Anybody got the number or address for Walmarts BlueRay division? I want to send them a letter to get them to start working right.

My local Walmart had got rid of all their HDM but now have a new HDM movie sectiion with 3/4 being Blu-Ray. Before they only carried about 7-8 Blu-Ray titles and no HD-DVD. They carry HD-DVD now but they also carry many more Blu-Rays now.

I have 2 Wal-Marts within 30 min drive. One of them has like 20 blues and 5 DUD's. The other one has no HD media and the woman working there had no clue what a Blu-Ray was. In her exact words. What's that? In all fairness that store is in an area heavily occupied by migrant workers.

The Wal-Marts near me have almost nothing to speak of. Now granted I haven't checked one out in months since it is not a priority for me to shop there, even when they have stuff on sale at a really good price. The place just creeps me out. I don't see Wal-marts carrying any movies with regularity until the format really takes off.

It's the same here. One Wal-Mart will have about 30 titles of each. Another will have 10 Blu-Ray and 3 HD DVD. Yet another has zilch...and I have yet to see a Blu-Ray standalone.

Default Who cares about Wal-Mart anyways...

You should all be ashamed of yourselves for even stepping foot into a Wal-Mart. It is an evil corporation and destroys small, local businesses. To quote Jay, "F*$@ them up their stupid asses." DOWN WITH WALLY

I haven't shopped in Wal-Mart in a long time. I work in a grocery store right next to the place and I really just go in there to see how the competition is. They opened near us just to run us out. It hasn't worked. Everytime I go in there it looks like s***. Gets worse and worse every week over there. Rumor is around here is they're about to shut down.

my walmart also carries terrible BD (Dud as well, but who cares). I had to go to one last Tuesday morning since they are the only store that open at 7, for medical supplies, I bought one of the TWO copies of Spidy Trilogy they got, both we damages on the box sleeve (i HATE that) and the ONLY copy of License to Wed they received on BD.

Generally, my experiences at Walmart have always been bad. They hire dumbasses (no offense to the few smart ones), and they are generally unhelpful (repeating lines like "whatever we got is on the shelf" or "I don't know") Target on the other hand, is so much better when it comes to customer service. I remembered when my cousin and I were on the hunt for the 2008 Camero Bumblebee Toy, Target employees were the only ones checking their back stock, and even pull out their stock for us to look through, same with BD releases.

I only go to Walmart as last resort, but to each their own I guess.

PS. I will search the threads, but since I'm here, have anyone been having trouble tracking down Robocop on BD, I can't find it anywhere. I already have my copy, but I am concerned because stores can't sell what they don't have.

At the wal-mart near me, the HDM discs have been moved to a dedicated display outside the department. It is a 4 sided display, about 4'x4'x4'x4', that is actually showing demo discs on 2 TV's (one side blu, one side red). Discs that are being merchandised is 3/4 blu and 1/4 red.

FYI - I found this display after 2 rounds of the department.
