Interested to hear what extras this will have. I might get it, as opposed to renting from Netflix.

I thought this was a decent flick...it's a shame Paramount felt the need to dump it off to audiences in January - they probably could have saved it until May and got a much better return on it. People are going to find this on video/streaming and wonder why they missed it in theaters.

Pretty good movie! Perfect timing with Russia hosting the Olympics and such.

I wasn't amazed with this film, it was okay but not really great. I may pick it up when the price goes down but I was somewhat disappointed with it.

haven't seen it yet.
can't be worse than The Sum of all Fears, can it?
and it doesn't really matter to me that this is an original story instead of a Clancy novel. The Sum of all Fears was so different from the book, it might as well have been an original story too.

Saw it today and THOROUGHLY enjoyed it. In fact, I was shocked at how much I enjoyed it.

Same here. I expected a mildly entertaining guilty pleasure flick with a bit of action. Instead I got a pretty good and extremely entertaining film, that balanced story with action, and jam packed it with a bit of character introspection. Yet again I wasn't sure about Branagh directing a big budget mainstream film, and yet again I was happily proven wrong. A very good film, and one I can't wait to see again on blu-ray.

Now what's the news on Non-Stop???

Non stop looks really good. Wanna see that one. It probably will have "non stop" action.

Just saw it tonight. I felt it had a really slow start and took awhile to get going but got much better in the 2nd half to end.
I also have to say that Keira Knightly's teeth looked terrible.

Call me weird but I am turned off from seeing this due to knowing it was meant as a franchise starter and that franchise will never come with these box office returns. I feel like it would seem like an unfinished story. Maybe I'm crazy.

This Franchise actually ended for me with "Clear and Present Danger" Some years later I regret having seen "Sum of all Fears" and concluded at that time that Ben Affleck is a much better director than an actor! I think I'd better stay away from this one too!!

While things may not look great at the moment, I'd say that's far from a foregone conclusion. To date, it's made over $80 million world wide. With a budget of $60 million, it's still possible that we'll see a sequel, particularly after DVD/Blu-ray sales.

I doubt it, adding in marketing costs. It might make a little profit but not enough to warrant a franchise, I suspect.

It's the type of film that normally does well on home video. That's where things will hinge as far as moving forward.

They need to go back to some of the books to draw stories from if they want to really build something substantial though. There's a reason why Clancy's books and the Jack Ryan character have done so well. They don't have to do faithful adaptations, but there's a heck of a lot of great stories to pull from. It's a great foundation to build on.
