Question Region 4 DVDs in an Aussie Blu-ray player?

Hi,

I have tried to search this question without much success. Apologies if this has been asked previously

I am considering the purchase of a blu-ray player - but. I have a pretty extensive catalogue of DVDs (who doesnt?!) which is a mixture of DVDs bought in the UK (Region 2) and Australia (Region 4).

I understand that blu-ray have their own regional coding - and Im fine with that but, will the region coding on my DVDs have any issue playing on a Blu-ray player I buy here in Australia?

I have a multi-region Samsung DVD player at present (which was simply a case of pressing out a sequence out on the remote.)

Would welcome any input here.

Many thanks

Rod

Blu-ray players are locked to the DVD region in which they are sold. Aussie deck=R4 DVD, Region B Blu-ray. UK=R2 DVD Region B BLu

personally I would just keep your regular dvd player for your standard dvd's...upconversion is ok...but its not even real HD, and you would be hard pressed to even notice any improvement...

that being said...

Blu-ray is the way to go...once you get to watching blurays you become so spoiled by the pristine PQ, that regular dvd's will start to look "blurry"
