Default Statistics show otherwise

He mentions an article by Jonathan Harrop of the The Arkansas Traveler, who apparently sells HDTV's for a living, and HD-DVD players with most of them. He than thanks him for his insight of what is occurring at the retail level. He must have only studied his store for those statistics, cause I too sell TV's part time, and most customers are inclined to buy a Blu-ray player over an HD-DVD player. If one were to visit a retail store that displays both formats, most people crowed in front of the BD display, and most sales people rather sell the BD player (not only because it pays twice the commission, but also because it is better quality). Statistically, isn't Blu-ray outselling HD-DVD in both hardware and software sales??

People like this guy just have an inflated ego and have a need to inform everyone how intelligent they are. Sending him e-mails will do no good, it'll just reinforce his own self worth. My advice is to do what 99.999% of the world is doing and just ignore him. After all, when Blu-Ray finishes of HD DVD he'll see exactly how much influence he really has.

You don't have to tell me, I keep telling myself not to waste my time at AVM$ and HDD. And I still keep going back. Although there are some pretty funny guys at HDD.

Better use of your time than that site.

Plus I may have missed a decimal point or four.

i dont even wanna start with his claims, but just look at one very interesting point he gave

"According to our reviews, the entry level BD players have very mediocre upscaling quality for standard definition DVDs. Entry-level HD DVD players fare much better. Neither are perfect..."

well, i guess that's why TOSHIBA is selling their players this cheap eh, so u can buy it and then keep buying DVDs since u can upscale it to a near "PERFECT" Hd DVD (the look and sound of perfect, eh, so that's the best HD DVD can do, just a player with a different name that can upscale DVDs, lol) quality, hmm... i dont know if they are stupid or have better hardware... LMAO

In a way, it's not. These guys are so entrenched into their camp that they can't see through their own distorted view of reality. And when you write in, they'll quote you in their next article, completely distorting what you said.

Unfortunately I'm having an e-mail dialog right now with the idiot......he just said he writes the "truth for millions of people to read".......I said...."what millions? The only reason I saw your opinion was because I googled, Blu_ray News"

I'm going to have to hang up with him because you are right, he will probably cry that he was attacked by the Blu side for telling the truth.

What a complete and utter fool. Utter obsequiousness to the unsophisticated format... and this guy is supposed to be giving advice. I mean the other junk has already technologically ran out of steam before HDM becomes mass market.

I would like ti suggest a change of wardrobe to him... one of those nice canvas jackets with the big straps!!!

I'm seeing more and more so-called experts and analysts saying that because of the lower HD DUD HW prices that the war should be over after Christmas and HD DUD will win..........lots of FUD going on to try and convince the fence-sitters to go Red.
