Default Circuit city out of the HDDVD game already?

Circuit city never carried HDDVD in their stores, but did carry the HDDVD player from RCA on their site for a while. the HDv5000 a rebadged Toshiba HD-A1 well, i've searched high and low on their site, and it's gone now.
They do still carry the discs though, and ofcourse Blu-ray, samsung & movies & they have the sony blu-ray player listed on their site for preorder too.

Just thought i'd post it up!

Circuit City tried to cram DivX down our throats. I doubt they have their finger on the pulse of what consumers want over a decade later.

Lets not forget Universal pictures was also on that DiVx bandwagon...fact is many companies take chances, you win some, you lose some.

Is there any other place that the RCA player was sold? Maybe RCA isn't making the player anymore?

BTW... DiVX was a great technology, it just required too much from the average consumer, and I think it was far ahead of its time. A technology like DiVX could possibly thrive in today's marketplace.

DivX is a great technology and I love to use it to watch movies on my computer etc. Circuit City is a joke though

It's back up, now. It's also on the Wal-Mart site too. But, it's not in most of their stores if any of them.

Circuit City always has great prices on their HD DVD's and BD discs. I could care less if they carry an HD DVD player.
