Question I am cluless!Need Help picking a Decent surround System!

Hello everyone:

I need your help picking up a Decent surround system for my gaming set up, and since black friday is just around the corner maybe some of you could point me in the right direction.

I have no clue where to start.... I have my PS3 hooked up too my 30 inch Samsung 1080i slim fit HDTV via HDMI cable.

I mostly use my PS3 for gaming, but over the past year have aquiered a decent number of blu disc..... I just want to rock out to a kick ass sound system for movies and games. Not my crappy TV speakers...

Thanks for all the help...!

If you're looking for the best, Bose is the most recommended brand. It is expensive but its well worth it and won't cause any problems for a long time. You get what you buy!

I pissed all my money away on a HDTV, PS3, and blu-ray dvds, but I'm looking forward to buy Bose, Onyko, Yamaha, or even Sony again. I recommeded you getting a 7.1 surround

well, without knowing what youre willing to spend...for starters this would be a good set-up:

Onkyo TX-SR605

fluance.com for great priced speakers.

I agree. They are way overpriced and they can't call it a subwoofer, because, well it isn't. You can pick up an Onkyo HTIB for around 500-600 and that has a reciever, the center channel, front left and right and rear left and right surrounds and a decently powered subwoofer. I have an older model Onkyo reciever and am very happy with it.

from the sounds of it tho. i'd check for some of the black friday deals and just get yourself a home theater in a box

pick a few in your price range and then search google for reviews.

I heard a lot of good rumors about Onkyo including one in this room so I'll look for a 7.1 version I saw advertised in the best buy ad

Thumbs up

6ave.com has the KEF 3005 surround sound system for $998 and the Kef 5005.2 system for $1296. I have the 5005.2 and its a great system however I paid $2000 for it at Circuit City. When I called, I talked to Scott at extension 8632.

You don't need a lot of 'bling' to get a good sounding HTIB in that price range. I can't recall the actual model number but try looking up the Onkyo system for $500. You can also try www.crutchfield.com they are decently priced and offer fast shipping. Good luck!

It'll take me awhile to get money like that or make payments for several years. I have the HDTV, PS3, and I need one more to complete the combination.

hmmm or he could get the 7.1 package ht805 onkyo Come with all 7 speakers and subwoofer and a kick ass 1000w receiver for $449.
That if he don't mind not having the lossless audio.

you mean the Onkyo HT-SR800 (not 805? )

You would need an optical cable for audio...and the speakers are ass budget.
