Thumbs down Cancelled my Amazon account

amazon had what appeared to be an AMAZING deal. it was definitely "too good to be true". You vote for a product, the most votes, that product is the winner promotional item, you check back within the time frame to receive the product based on the quantity available.

So I voted for the Nintendo Wii, $79 bucks. Voted for it, it was declared winner. Been an amazon customer for almost 8 years now... I check back at 12:01 am. the Check Out now button lights up.. i hit it... then it tells me "We're sorry, you were not randomly selected for this product"

Basically, your vote is benefiting others, and not you, it's a lottery pool, and I should've known this. I felt like I was led toward a wild goose chase by Amazon's Marketing strategy and my only comeback is to stop doing business with Amazon, and stick with the traditional black friday deals.

Yea thats what it said when you voted, 5000 available to the lottery of selected voters. Go ahead cancel your account and stick it to the man cause you can't read.

Yeah, I didn't get the PS3, F$#k them and their F$%king lottery.

Seriously, you were expecting to win? Should I complain to the state because i've been playing their lottery and never hit the jackpot? Please.

I didn't win either, but oh well, I can't really afford a 3rd ps3 and I probably would have just offered the deal to someone else.

Amazon sucks in general when it comes to customer service. I had an issue with them almost a year ago and all I could get was a phone rep that could not speak english. It sucks that so many American companies are going this route. Since then I try not to do business with Amazon and try to deal with smaller companies that go the extra mile.

Kinda childish. I voted, was hoping to win, but I did not. I knew the odds. So what - I didn't loose anything

Hence why they call it a lottery. Lol.

why would you cancel your account with amazon because you didnt get picked outta the lottery... firstly you didnt pay anything for this lottery and it gave you the chance of winning a great deal on a gaming console and other items... who knows how many people voted for the Wii (prolly enough) and theres only 5000 available at that price... think of how stupid amazon would be to give it to everyone who voted for it?! talk about a toshiba strat... give away your merch...
if you feel that cancelling your one account that probably gives amazon an average of maybe 100$ a year is gonna teach them a lesson you're wrong and guaranteed you'll remake your account soon to profit from another bogo sale they'll prolly have on bds to counter Bournes

Happens every year (last two anyways) that Amazon does some holiday deal. There is always a bunch of people who whine and complain that they did not get their way.

There's still a shortage. Better check again because many stores I've been to have empty boxes of Wii for display uses, not the actual consoles.

Yeah, brother has one. Played it maybe twice and hes had it for 5 months now?

Nintendo is excellent when it comes to marketing 5 year old crap which is basically what the Wii is.

People who buy this are going to pump a lot of money into the software while they are purchasing the hardware. Shipping is nothing and in most places people won't have to pay sales tax, that's even more money for the consumer to spend with Amazon. This keeps the people out of brick and mortar stores.

While getting all of software, you suddenly realize you can do most if not all of your Christmas shopping at Amazon and avoid the crowds. Amazon has to get you shopping first, welcome to advertising dollars in action.

Spend a little, make a ton...

Its no different than standing in a line for 3-4 hours to get a gaming console only to have the store tell you they only have 10 on hand, Am I going to boycott K-Mart, No, I figured they took an ass whooping last week with the 319 ps3 , so I didnt get one but I got another deal.
