Default VOTE BLU-RAY at Amazon.com!!!

I am a consumer who believes 110% in the Blu-ray format.

Amazon is having some survey to collect consumer information, it involves voting on the best deal between three related products, and one of the categories includes a Samsung BDP1400, up against a Toshiba HDDVD player and a Tivo HD dvr. The hypothetical sale price for the Samsung Blu-ray player (which 500 randomly chosen voters will be offered) is only $149! Right now the HDDVD player is winning, we need to fight back! The link below will direct you to the voting page. You have to have an amazon.com account to vote.

I do not work for amazon, I just believe in blu-ray. Show your support!! and good luck!!!

If I win that Samsung Blu-ray player price, I will buy it as a Christmas gift for someone.

I have a feeling that it's going to come in last place. But if the HD-DVD player wins and I'm selected, I'm selling my current HD-A2 to my parents and getting it since it outputs 1080p, and I think it can output TrueHD via bitstream.

FWIW I still prefer Blu-ray, but I just couldn't resist a $99 HD DVD player.

How can you justify wasting $100 on a format that is going to die out unless you like to keep relics in a special room in your house.

NOTE: I'm not trying to start anything. You can do what you want with your money. It's just MHO.

Default Don't Worry

PS3 and Blu-Ray will win...just like the multi-celled organisms are now dominating the earth over the single-celled organisms...

So, for now, even if Amazon is selling HD-DVD movies and players at higher rate than our beloved format, no need to worry...Sony/PS3/BRay movies will win out soon enough.

I am just watching on the side lines laughing...so many references to VHS v BETA and how the superior but more expensive format lost and so too will BRay...one thing folks are not taking into account is the technological superior world we are living in versus the late 70s/early 80s...our society is ready for BRay to win...our society wants BRay to win...

Besides, I refuse to think that just because the dollar is weaker against the yen and the euro, that our choices in format war too will lag behind Japan/Europe where the war is over already...

I alread have an Oppo upconverting player, so I figured I would buy the HD-A2 and sell the Oppo. I will be able to get enough from the sale to cover the cost of the HD-DVD player, and probably even make some money on the deal, and the HD-A2 will upconvert SD DVDs as well, and it looks better on my DLP tv, since the Oppo I was using has some macroblocking issues.

Besides, I know this is a bluray forum and all, but you don't know what format is going to win, and even though I really hope Bluray wins, if it doesn't I'll be set either way. Plus there are still some movie studios that only release on HD DVD and not bluray, so I can still watch them in HD with better sound than regular dolby digital or dts.
