The Pyramid-Alexandre Aja produced horror film

[Chaotic]

Ashley Hinshaw, Denis O’Hare, Christa Nicola, James Buckley and Daniel Amerman star in the film which concerns a team of U.S. archaeologists who unearth an ancient pyramid buried deep beneath the Egyptian desert. As they search the pyramid’s depths, they become hopelessly lost in its dark and endless catacombs. Searching for a way out, they become desperate to seek daylight again. They come to realize they aren’t just trapped, they are being hunted.

I'm excited for this. Though I hear it's more of an adventure than all-out horror. I imagine we'll get a trailer this week? Looking forward to that.

I know he's only producing this but Aja has failed to deliver on the promise of Switchblade Romance. He's just interested in gorefests now than actually frightening people like he did with his debut. Disappointment.

I thought he did a great job on The Hills Have Eyes. And Piranha 3D was a blast. The gore was the best thing about Mirrors, which was a bore. High Tension is my favorite of his but he is a talented director. I look forward to future projects from him.

I definitely have some hope for this one being that it's from his writing partner.

I just gt done watching the trailer and looks decent. I'll give it a watch.

The Hills Have Eyes remake isn't bad, but it does feel like one of those post-Saw that indulge in sexual violence and excessive gore in order to shock audiences. I did like that there was a boy hero in a contemporary horror film for once, but it's still nothing work revisiting.

Mirrors is awful. Just downright awful, which is a shame because the concept was interesting and Kiefer Sutherland is watchable, but it's just directed badly and those gory scenes you mention are unpleasant imo.

At least with Piranha he realised he was making trash and didn't apologise for it. Not my thing though.

I agree about The Hills Have Eyes. Piranha 3D was okay. I think Mirrors is really underrated.

This looks claustrophobic and reminds me of The Ruins, another underrated horror film. But I hate that shot at the end of the trailer. It's such a cliche.

Most trailers do this. They'll show people dying or looking like they are dying and when the actual movie comes out things are switched around or not what they appear to be in the trailer.

I'm sorry but Mirrors is NOT underrated. It's rubbish. And tasteless. Had potential but it's not a good film at all.

Nice to see Ashley Hinshaw coming out with a horror film right after being in the finale season of True Blood. I've liked her since she was in the American version of LOL.

Anything Egyptian or related to the pyramids is fascinating so this could end up one of the best found footage horror entries.

I like how this one takes place in a pyramid as we don't get to many of those. Glad to see it's not another haunted house found footage film.
