Default Aint It Cool is HDDVD biased.

Whenever there is a weekly or monthly run down of whats worth buying, HD DVD packaging is generally shown for multi format releases.

Yeah, Ain't It Cool has said that HD will win over Blu-ray because porn will be on HD. I wonder if Harry from Ain't It Cool also likes scratching lottery tickets and eating salisbury steak.

Exactly, just like many here support BR only... to each their own... Rotten tomatoes is the same way with hddvd.

Ha, Harry also said HD will win because it can play DVDs too.

Notwithstanding, Harry has been open about his preference, however misinformed it was. And it was misinnformed...as his list of "why" just wasn't very good. But...to each their own.

I think just like Bill Hunt said, Harry should stick with what he knows, movies, not Home Media.

Are there any other sites that lean to the Blu side besides this one and Digital Bits?

It seems almost every other site leans HD-DVD.

A site called "Ain't It Cool" is a little ironic.

Did the blowjob that came up with title watch Face Off one too many times?

Harry and his crew did mention that they favor HD DVD, but they're also starting to watch BD films. Harry even bought a BD player for CE3K.

Basically Harry needed a new DVD player, and they had a megasale, and Robert Rodriguez had told them they were cool/better cause he's loyal to Weinstein (a position I hear he's since reversed)

"Ain't It Cool" sells themselves to the highest bidder on virtually everything they cover. The studios themselves are stupid enough to really think that people on the internet care what they think and hear on the website and thus pay Harry large sums of money to favorably review movies/HD formats. That endorsement of HD DVD was bought and paid for as every other thing on that site is. That site is so 2004.

You can recognize his site as biased and disagree with him, but trying to smear the poor guy is a little overboard don't ya think?

I find it much more compelling to attack "ideas" rather than directly attack the people with those "ideas".

Just be forewarned that you won't get any unbiased or Pro-Blu commentary from Harry is all.

It's not a smear. The "pwesents" (his term, not mine) that he accepts is legendary for pimping some of the biggest steaming piles of the last 10 years, which he later recants on, but he's so busy whoring that it never really affects him when it matters, so long as they wine and dine him enough

Default Digital Bits vs. AICN is where the underground marketing war...

began imho. Digital Bits refuted H. Knowles "factual-type" claims about porn, etc. and basically shot them to bits with statistical info., saying that he was downright wrong in his choice. Harry came across as a sub-rate FUD-biased journalist who didn't do his fact-checking.

In essence his comeback along with many of his inside reviewers was: HD-DVD is better because its cheaper and looks and sounds just as good as Blu-ray. The inference was that if you buy Blu you are a sucker who likes to throw away money for the same end product and/or your sole reason for supporting Blu is that you are a PS3 fanboy lemming. Digital Bits simply reiterated its stance on Blu-ray as the superior format with additional facts and FUD-crushing info. and an overview of why they believe Blu-ray will win over time.

While Harry has come across to many here as an uninformed, spin-dizzy HD-DVD (w)hore, I don't know that it is entirely true. I've seen more HD-DVD adds than Blu but I think I have seen Blu adds on his site.

You're fighting a battle against a group of people who are extremely well-versed in the art of the internet group-think tactics. You didn't think that it is a coincidence that we see so many 'grass-roots' support apparently spring up overnight while the movie sales are still very clearly showing the actual reality?

The disk sales is really the only proof that is showing what is really happening in this war. It's also the only one that counts. The only way that can be manipulated is if either side spends money every week to warehouse disks, and that can add up to real money quickly. If discovered, that would also cause severe problems. So this type of thing can be done a few weeks, but cannot be sustained.

BDA likely has tried similar 'dirty' tactics, but they're just not as well entrenched on the internet as their competition.
