Thumbs up This looks very promising!

Out of curiosity, I visited the Blu-ray forum and the HD-DVD forum at Noon today (Sunday Nov 25th, 2007).
I was shocked to see the difference in activity from one forum to the other.

The Blu-ray forum had 978 people viewing the forums while the HD-DVD forums had only 9 viewers!
I don't think we can use this as conclusive evidence but it looks very promising for Blu-ray.

See the screen caps for yourself:

Blu-ray forum

HD-DVD forum

Zak

UPDATE: I just checked the numbers again a minute ago and now Blu-ray has 1,146 viewers and HD-DVD has 17.

Hello zak88lx and welcome to the Forum.
Well I guess one reason for that is that the HD-DUD users spend most of their time trying to get their equipment fixed and running right and they are also depressed a lot and just sit there and whine J/K, but I am glad you found those numbers, looks great!

Yeah, I think this is because there's a strong base for HD-DVD at other sites like avs. What's promising is that Blu-Ray outsells HD-DVD...forum post counts don't really paint a proper picture.

The H DUDers spend their time on this forum, somehow thinking they can bother us and thus win the format competition. I can't really figure out that "logic" but I can't figure out why someone would want an inferior format anyway. Simple pleasures for simple minds, I guess.

Either here or over on AVS. AVS is like their nest...lair? Domain? Cesspool? Take your pick, but they frequent that site much more.

Most of the DUD people are over at AVS contemplating their next attack on Blu Ray.

Frankly this is the only board on the internet for Blu-ray fans where you don't have to put up with constant HD DVD trolling. It got so tiring on other forums that I moved here. The moderators here are excellent for quickly banning obvious trolls. The HD DVD fans have infested virtually every other forum that discusses HD media with FUD and misinformation. AVSforums is a shadow of its former self after the self-imposed shutdown. Most of the HD DVD trolls there have moved on to other boards. It would be nice for a truly neutral board but I think the best at this point is a separation of the two factions.

AVS was once the site to go to for up to date information on all things Audio/Video. The mods ruined it themselves, by letting Amir and his followers to reign havoc and destroy any credibility that they had previously worked hard to gain. It was so bad, that you couldn't, or weren't allowed to make a balanced assessment on the two formats. If you made a valid point, you were immediatly attacked and discredited with lies and misinformation. It'll take months, if not years, to gain back their A+ credibility. It's too bad, because other forums there are still credible and need to be supported. The HDM forums are in shambles and are now over governed. They could have stayed credible, if they had just rounded up the HD DVD troublemakers and banned them and their ip addresses.

I'm not sure if they can afford to ban the entire company...especially since they still need employees to post in the Xbox boards.

enjoy

P.S. My 1,100th post!
