On a side note does anyone have a list of the size of the movie companies up there ^^^^ at the top just how big they are compared to each other. And didnt I read that Sony itself holds right to many movies too?

Nintendo was considering HD-DVD earlier but since has gone on official record they will use DVDs instead same with xbox 360 so you can remove that whenever. You are also missing New Line Cinemas they are a major movie company backing HD-DVD.
Here is the list of studios in the order of most movies and revenue. It also lists some of the biggest money makers for those studios!

Just a few news articles that said that Blu-ray sold about 15,000 and HD-DVD sold about 20,000 (at that time). Now, Toshiba is saying they have sold 50,000 players world-wide so far. They are shooting for 200,000 players sold by the end of the year. Meanwhile, Sony is shooting for 4 million (PS3s) sold by the end of the year (world-wide). Overwhelming isn't it? How does HD-DVD think they can survive?

Are they counting the pre-orders for the players that haven't launched yet or just the Samsung? And unfortunately yes hd dvd does think they can survive. There is two ways to look at this though, the pragmatic way that hd dvd is pushing blu-ray to improve itself or the pessimistic way that hd dvd is slowing down the eventual adoption of blu-ray along w/consumer confusion
