Has anyone had any issues getting their BD player to play on this receiver? I get the loading screen through HDMI on my TV, then as soon as it wants to actually play the movie (BD or DVD), it just gives me audio and no video. Is this that handshaking things that people have mentioned? Any suggestions or knowledge would be greatly appreciated. The player plays fine when connected directly to TV, just audio only through receiver. Thanks is advance.

The Pioneer 94 looks like a very good receiver from a solid manufacturer if all the reviews can be trusted. I find it unlikely to be the receiver, though I don't have it (/cry) so I can't say for sure.
I do, however, have a similar issue with the PS3 plugged directly into my projector via HDMI occasionally. Telling the projector to rescan HDMI (switch to composite and back to HDMI) fixes things easily enough. Try switching input sources to something else and back with your TV and it should work for you. For troubleshooting purposes, you can cut the middleman so to speak. Plug your blu-ray player directly into your TV (bypassing your receiver) and see if you still have the same issues (though perhaps less frequently?). Edit: Ok, you did this.. but keep it that way for a while and see if the issue occurs even once in a few days of use - if so I'd suggest that the root of the problem isn't the receiver. Seems to me that this issue is a very tightly-timed race condition. If so, introducing any receiver (or other electronic component) between player and display would introduce a very small delay that could make the issue more or less likely to occur given the nature of the race condition, should there be one. /shrug I don't know anything about the circuitry to give a definitive answer it just feels like this sort of issue to me. You may consider looking into firmware updates (if you haven't already) for any of your components capable of them as they may resolve your problem. Last edited by Durentis; 11-28-2007 at 04:13 AM. |

I did not respond earlier because I am not sure what would cause this for you. I have had zero problems with my 94. And I have used 3 BD players with it see sig.
