Talking some people are worried about HD VMD

rdjam
Big Fan of Goodly HD

OK - I'll jump in! HD VMD really does kinda suck. Where is the list of VMD movies available right now?

And how come we get nothing more than DD or DTS audio like the last ten years of DVD? I mean, it would have been nice if they had just chosen to at least use DD+ or DTS HD.

And, is it true that the first VMD discs are 18 Gigs, or is it even less?

With HD DVD at almost the same price, it's a better choice.

But hey, if VMD and HD DVD set the prices that folks expect, then I'll be happy if they knock out Bluray.

where are the HD VMD movies :right on their web site for $17.95
18 GB or is it even less...well that never stopped HD DVD "touting" HD DVD has enough space to handle HD, enough even when it has less space compared to Blu-Ray. "30 GB" is good enough

the same things they were touting against Blu-Ray they are takeing the same position that Blu-Ray supporters take against HD DVD.....

some of the comments by some of the staunch HD DVD supporters that are still negative toward Blu-Ray are now starting to get Worried.is it that they are worried that VMD is a threat to HD DVD now..you bet..."VMD MAY GET lord of the rings before Blu-Ray or HD DVD" so i may have to jump in and buy a player out of "curiosity" ...

LOOK at these :

hd nOOb:

Why would LionsGate support VMD but not HD DVD?

whippersnapper:

Possibly a harbinger of Warner's upcoming decisions?

Faceless Rebel
The Mouth of Sonyron:

It would be ironic if this new interloper format was the first one to get Lord of the Rings, before either HD DVD or Blu-Ray.

And let's make no mistake here, that's exactly what this format is, an interloper. It should be destroyed immediately, but it's too late now and the Pandora's box has officially been opened. A three-format war would destroy high def utterly.

PS3 is a great Blu-Ray player poorly disguised as a mediocre game console. Too bad it's sold as a console. It might be the first trojan horse product in history where Sony forgot to include the horse.

whippersnapper:
I agree, HD-VMD will be a great place to migrate for HD-DVD fans if HD-DVD doesn't succeed. That way they can retain their anti-Blu status.

its good to read for the funny comments
