Iyobinte Pusthakam BD release date? - Blu-ray Forum

I had the good fortune to watch this film on the big screen on my recent visit to India. While the script has its flaws, the film is among the best period films to ever come out of Kerala. And spectacular cinematography! With craftsment like Amal Neerad and actors like Fahadh Fazil (who also co-produced the film), Malayalam cinema still has a shot at redemption...

I digress

I wanted to ask the Malayalam BLuray experts here if they are aware of a BD release of this film. There's hardly anything online on this....but that's not unusual for Malayalam films.

No BD. Only VCD and DVD, releasing in Feb 2015

Wait! What?? No BD at all or there will be one at a future date?? This film deserves a BD more than any Mallu film.

The rights are with Empire Video. They have never released a BD till date. Their parent company AP International has also stopped releasing BDs in Malayalam as they never recover their money.

that is just sad! I can understand the economic side of it but we stand to lose an important film on a high resolution format

Two days ago I sent Amal Neerad a message thru his Facebook profile earnestly pleading for a BD release. I like to think my note to him prompted him to post the news of the BD release ......but that would be wishful thinking

Regardless of what caused them to come out with such news it's splendid news indeed!

It was showing on sale on Amazon a couple days ago but not anymore. In fact I dont see the BluRay listed on any site. Has it released?
