Default Dexter: The Most Shocking Episodes

My wife really want's to get this set, she said she say it on amazon as a Blu Ray and when I went to buy it for her all I can find is a DVD copy.
Has anyone seen it on Blu Ray anywhere?
Thank's Bob

The entire series is awesome, but the most shocking was the last episode because it was such a sad way to end a great show. Total disappointment. Just my opinion.

I would just buy the 1st 4 seasons. Show went downhill after that.

I believe it's a DVD-only release.

Would personally recommend opting for season sets anyway

I'd say just go with seasons 1-3 (or even just 1 & 2). The 4th season was almost infuriating with the ridiculous 'Willie Coyote/Roadrunner' thing that Dexter had going with the main villain. How many times did he almost catch him? Ugh. Somewhere before the start of the 4th season, I feel like Dexter's IQ dropped by about 30 points, and his decisions started to seem really... well, stupid. By the time the last episode of season 4 rolled around, I had lost interest in one of my favorite shows up on TV until that point. YMMV, of course.

PS: Not sure what the thread title meant, but DO NOT try just watching individual episodes. Although a few might be enjoyable by themselves, you're cheating yourself if you don't see each season in order, in its entirety.

This is the greatest TV series of all times. Buy all 8 seasons. They are fantastic.

As far as I've been able to research this is a DVD only release, at least for now. If anyone is curious, here are the 10 episodes included over 3 discs:

1.01 Dexter
1.12 Born Free
2.09 Resistance is Futile
2.12 The British Invasion
4.11 Hello, Dexter Morgan
4.12 The Getaway
5.10 In the Beginning
6.12 This is the Way the World Ends
7.01.Are you...?
7.12 Surprise, Mother****er!

I would only watch the first 2 seasons, they're fantastic. Season 3 was when it went downhill. Gave up after Season 5.

This. The show builds off of itself so it really needs to be seen completely and in order. It's not like Seinfeld or The Simpsons where each episode could fit anywhere and is self-contained. Some play more self-contained than others, but none are truly one-shots. YMMV on later seasons, but the first 4 are insanely good.

I'd argue that you definitely don't know what you're talking about if you think Seasons 6-8 elevate the series to the greatest TV series of all time. You're joking, right?

Season 6 was very good and interesting, 7 was just plain great, 8 was superb and the most fascinating season in the series.

I enjoyed the first 5 seasons. After that it was just a chore to watch. The final season is a massive pile of shit.

Yeah, the last 4 seasons were terrible. The last season in particular is hilariously awful.

There are interesting parts of season 5, 6 and 7 that could've been combined into a good season -- Lumen's psyche, Brother Sam, Dexter's kinship with the hitman -- but there's nothing in season 8 that's remotely redeeming.
