300 Blu-ray won the highest honor in the High Def 2.0 Awards, as it bested the HD DVD version to win Title of the Year

I thought it didn't even have uncompressed audio?

I guess they must have mixed that Dolby Digital Plus Track quite well...

I'm not one of the big sticklers are lossless audio (I probably won't be until I have a $5,000 sound system or something), but I still find it odd that in awards given for high definition formats, something with lossless HD audio was not chosen for the audio award.

While it is surprising that a movie with a lossless track didn't win, credit must be given to the DD+ track on Transformers for really giving an immersive sound experience. It is a top tier soundtrack.

It's one of those Lifetime Achievement Awards thingies. Like the Academy Awards gives out to aged and broken down actors....at the very end of their careers.

while the movie sounds outstanding...even on DVD...

How come 300 on Blu-Ray did win ? I mean, it's the SAME thing on Blu-Ray and on HD-DVD, and I must admit that even if I support exclusively Blu-Ray, I think tht if a version should have won, it should have been HD-DVD because of the same specs as Blu-Ray, plus all the extras...
