Anyone here collect them? I hear they're selling like hot cakes.

I bought an Ike one as I'm a big fan of Fire Emblem. I'll try and get the other Fire Emblem ones when I can.

So far I've held out on buying any of them, mostly because the ones I want usually happen to be the hard to find ones. I for sure would love to try and get in on the Yarn Yoshi ones but I'm sure they'll be retailer exclusive and I'm sure the website will crash as soon as pre-orders are up.

I don't like the trend of locking out gaming content like the day one dlc with splatoon,

I want that yarn yoshi one tho,

There is no excuse why Nintendo can't overstock every single individual Amiibo Figurine to death in stores Globally.

Well the port strike supposedly had something to do with it but that doesn't explain why newer pre-orders are so damned hard to come by. You make something retailer exclusive? Take pre-orders until the demand is gone. These are not complex devices and they should for sure be able to accommodate everyone.

The ones that I want are already sold out and I refuse to pay eBay scalper prices. I'm not paying $50 for something is not in the stores yet.

Nintendo has to know that around 85% of their exclusives in the US are ending up in the hands of scalpers instead of in the hands of actual fans and collectors. Its Majora's Mask day 1 all over again every time a new wave comes out.

Things aren't as frantic in England. Especially now sites are limiting 1 per customer and UK-only shipping. There's been pre-orders on Game.co.uk for 5 days or so. The only ones which sold out are Greninja and Jigglypuff.

North Americans are lucky with the pricing. $11-$14 per Amiibo is alot cheaper than £11-£15. So its really unaffordable for me. Man, I'd hate to collect these things.

I've got 10 I really want and have even sold off a few I bought after getting swept up in it. I'm likely done when I get Ness, as it's just a huge shit show and only getting worse. You shouldnt have to line up at a gamestop at 2pm on a workday just to preorder something. Then you have retailers throwing up preorders that sell out in minutes or at 2 am or whatever.

I don't have any, I don't want any. I just can't believe Nintendo is being evil & stupid of a company to hold back these toys to raise demand. It's pure nonsense & doesn't make them any money what so ever. People on Craigslist or EBay cashing in, sure. Nintendo, not so much.

So it's Nintendo's loss. Great buisness model they got going over there. lol

If someone is willing to pay a scalper $50 for an amiibo, they're deep in nintendos ass already. Someone doesn't do that and stops at one, they'll have tons of amiibos, the console, games, etc.

Nintendo benefits greatly from the scarcity frenzy around their products. They just have to walk the line and not piss off their whales so much that they leave.

This French site, has restocks on most of them for 15 euros each. I missed out on Villager and Shulk by a minute, but I did get a Marth and a Pit. Also pre-ordered Greninja and Jigglypuff for £11 from the nintendo store.

I wouldn't really say Nintendo gains anything from the scarcity. Only the scalpers do.

I have a few but I don't bother with them anymore. I refuse to put in the time it would take to get most of the ones I want at a decent price. I'm over it.

How does that help Nintendo? That 50 bucks isnt going to them.

The initial sales help Nintendo since they have been selling out due to collectors and scalpers (more scalpers). You are correct that Nintendo does not see that $50. Just like when Gamestop gives you $4 for a trade-in game and they turn around sell it for $30. The publisher does not see that $30. That is $26 is all profit for Gamestop.

So does anyone know if wave 4 in the US will be available to preorder? If so when? I asked my local gamestop, target and toys r us and none of them knew. Also do you think I've completely missed out on my chance to get Rosalina or Meta Knight at the regular price since they were store exclusives? I just recently got into collecting these so any info you can give me is much appreciated!
