Me neither, but it ticks a lot of my boxes and at £9 I can't go wrong. The Bruce Lee films? Used to love them, have them all 2 disc special edition DVDs. I did upgrade ETD as the 40th a.e was once in 3 for £17 on amazon. I'll wait and see for the others as some of their blus don't get great reviews (TMNT). Also would wait until they included Game of Death & Big Boss (I think they're releasing this?) Yes, they're releasing all 4 of the Lee films. A boxset would be nice (although the Bruce Lee titles will also be getting steelbooks most likely), but I don't particularly like The Big Boss or Game of Death, plus I already have the 30th Anniversary DVD boxset from Hong Kong Legends if I ever want to revisit those two titles. Other releases in their Hong Kong Heroes line-up seem to be: When Taekwondo Strikes (1973); Armour of God (1986); Legacy of Rage (1986); Riki-Oh: The Story of Ricky (1991). They're also releasing The Cannonball Run and Cannonball Run II but no news yet whether these will also be in the HKH line. * 06-04-2015, 03:53 PM * #6 Blu MacReady Blu-ray Ninja * * Member since ![]() 4K collection:105 Blu-ray collection:2037 DVD collection:735 Blu-ray reviews:1 Trading Score:1 I like Bruce Lee, but not a fan of HK cinema tbh. Lol, I suppose the quality of Mediumrare's previous releases has everyone staying clear HK Cinema can be pretty hit and miss at times, although there are some definite classics, Bruce Lee's films and those by John Woo are great examples. * 06-04-2015, 04:26 PM * #8 drees5761 Expert Member * Member since:Nov 2009 Blu-ray collection:274 Blu-ray reviews:6 There release of High Road To China was one of the worse Blu ray's i have ever seen, awful quality. The problem with the HK films they have is that the Golden Harvest catalogue is held by Fortune Star and most of there releases elsewhere in the world have been poor upscales, so unless new transfers are done these will be the same sadly. True. I own Fortune Star's releases of A Better Tomorrow II and III and frankly they're two of the worst looking blu-rays in my collection! * 06-05-2015, 04:14 PM * #10 lolwut Blu-ray Ninja * * Member since ![]() Location:Virginia, US 4K collection:13 Blu-ray collection:949 DVD collection:176 Blu-ray reviews:2 Trading Score:184 By "official" I thought OP worked for Mediumrare, something like the Soda Pictures and other threads like this. * 06-05-2015, 04:15 PM * #11 moviegeek1992 Blu-ray Guru * * Member since:Apr 2015 4K collection:2 Blu-ray collection:820 DVD collection:233 Quote: Originally Posted by lolwut By "official" I thought OP worked for Mediumrare, something like the Soda Pictures and other threads like this. It's a British classic and one of the best horror films period. I may just buy the Spanish version to tide me over as the PQ is apparently quite good, but contains just the longer cut, I actually prefer the pacing in the shorter. * 07-26-2015, 02:56 AM * #14 nitin Blu-ray Knight * Member since:Feb 2010 Trading Score:9 Quote: Originally Posted by huntauk Hopefully these guys will get round to upgrading their DVD of Tourneur's Night of The Demon, ideally with the alternative cut Curse of The Demon. Keep an eye out, might happen again. Ended up getting mine for about AU$17 which was quite good, same mast as old R1 dvd though I am pretty sure but looks quite decent. Probably but while it looked like a typical old Universal master from the caps it'll be interesting to see how it looks if the compression is competent, which it certainly wasn't on the German one. Glad I eventually held off even though I sold my UK DVD ages ago, although that was also pretty poor! and from Medium Rare.
