Awesome deal, but it pissed me off.... - Blu-ray Forum

hey guys,

so i work for Paramount's national amusement company. Yesterday, we threw a family holiday night for our employees and management team. The cool thing we had awards to hand out to the lucky ones, we had free food and magic show, and free movie for all the guests and employees. We showed I AM LEGEND FOR SCREENING. Which by the way is an awesome movie. I thought they did a good job with it.

Now here is the problem i had last night. I had the winning raffle ticket to 2nd in place best assistant manager. I won An 80GB PS3 + 2 controllers + Assassins creed + and get this the best pissing me off part of the whole thing, I got 3 FREE HD DVD MOVIES ALONG TO GO WITH IT. MY BOSS ACTUALLY THOUGHT THAT HD DVDS CAN PLAY IN PS3.

I FELT SUCH RAGE, no reciept was given to me so i can't return the movies and exchange with BDs. and i can't believe my boss with a 20 years experience with digital cinema and projection can't tell a difference between HDDVD and BD.

Do you guys know of any way that i can exchange the 3 hddvd films without having the reciepts.

You could try and go to some place that buys used movies. Are the movies in their original packaging?

they are in their packaging. even with the plastic wrap. the good thing i already own a 60GB PS3, so i am just going to give the new one to my baby brother. The movies however, i just want to get rid of'em ASAP. i could sell it on ebay, the biggest issue i have i don't feel like wasting money to sell HDDVDs. do you know if there is a store the exchange the films, even if could get a gift card for them that would work out fine.

You could try walmart. I think they will give you a gift card, just make sure they sell them first.

Walmart would exchange them for Blu if they are available on Blu. If they ask (most of the time they don't) tell them your girlfriend bought HD instead of Blu and she paid cash and lost the receipt.

Anycase, you up at Doswell or another one of the parks?

I personally loved the one up in Doswell, but that was back when I was a NSA family person, and they had park days for us heh.

i think you misunderstood me, it isn't an amusement park, it is fairfax corner cinema delux at fairfax, VA.

i will try wal mart, but i thought there HDDVD exclusive. Do they sell BDs?.

What did you think of the CG throughtout I am Legend? It looks pretty awful to me, but I think the movie looks like it shoulld be a hit.

Yes they do, they sell both. In fact, there isnt an HD DVD exclusie store anywhere. At least Blu-ray has BlockBuster and more shelf space in Best Buys and Targets.

I heard on the news this week that you can return them to Target without a receipt once a year. Thats right, you heard me... Once a year you can return things to Target (obviously DVDs cant be opened) once a year without a receipt.

I suggest you watch it on a digital presentation. unfortunately our theatre location won't get, but were able to book a print from warner for presentation on the family night. here is the thing about the movie. Although it isn't like the book, but it is worth it. CG wise the film is sweet, it is definitely worth the 12 bucks. you will enjoy it.

What i do when i have something without a receipt is i take it to the store and say i got them as a gift and i wasn't given a gift receipt and walmart or whatever store you want to go to will take them back and give you store credit. Never had a problem with it anywhere.
