Was this movie better than any of the Goosebumps TV episodes? I'll always remember the big-deal ones always started out with: "Hello, I'm R.L. Stine; I write the Goosebumps books."

I much preferred the movie to the TV series. But even then, the movie isn't based on any one book so any comparisons aren't really fair.

I can't understand how one could possibly make a comparison of how good the movie was vs the TV show for a couple of reasons. First off the movie takes a bunch of characters from the books and puts them in real life. While the TV series episodes are adapted directly from the plot of the books themselves.

Exactly. But in terms of what entertained me more when I first saw it, I have to say the movie, the tv series bored me as kid. I was all about Are You Afraid of the Dark?

Might pick this up, did not think it would be good but everyone says it was great, will probably do a blind buy. Anyone outright hate it?

And Attack of the Mutant is my favorite as well, but probably because I was the kid who liked comic books so much as well lol.

I liked the movie. Even though I thought the first 30 minutes were a bit slow. But after the monsters were introduced. It really picked up and didn't stop. I'd buy it. Just not release week price.

I'm in for this one for sure. Really enjoyed it. Slappy stole the show. Fingers crossed the sequel is equally enjoyable and intros more characters and settings from the books.

Actually really liked this one. I didn't know that jack black also voiced slappy when I saw his name in the end credits.
