WHY no membership?

Im currently a paying member to a sat site I really like. I'd love for this site to go that route and it may make our "insider" conversation a little more personal. Generally you can offer better intel in the paying areas because supporters dont blab about what they paid for.

I've been reading posts on this site for about 6 months now, and one of the things I love is that you get a ton of "inside" info w/o having to pay for it. Of course you do get a lot of rumor and conjecture to go along with it, but that's true of pretty much all forums.

I felt the same way till I actually paid as a supporter, I prefer that situation better. And along with the membership you get intel a bit before its released to everyone else. Some of it never is.

This forum does great for me. Knowing what's coming out a few days or hours ahead of "non-paying" forums isn't serious enough for me to want to pay to use a forum. Is knowing what's coming out really that serious?

I care nothing of movie intel, I like industry intel.

And, the other good thing is you actually support the site you liek with a contribution, rather than just show up every day and read.

Well, you're a true visionary - but in all honesty, I doubt this will get turned into a pay site any time soon. The percentage of the members who would care enough to find out insider industry information a few days before everyone else is small - not all of us have that kind of - hmm, whats the word here, I dont want to say devotion - something.

I think we all like the information as it is here now - a few days, few hours ahead - not too big of a deal.

i think the mods do a great job of getting rid of the "goofballs" and there posts but as for charging a membership for this site come on Blu-ray isn't a money grubbing Moderated for language thats something Microsoft would do

I think we have already stated somewhere that we will not charge for a membership.

Here's what you can do to support the site and Blu-ray:
1. Buy Blu-ray products.
2. Buy Warner titles.
3. Buy Blu-ray products (or any products) on Amazon.com by using our links.
4. Join our folding@home team to help research with curing diseases and to raise awareness about the site, Blu-ray and the PS3.

With the money we make we improve the site by:
1. Adding and improving features and sections.
2. Adding more content.
3. Covering/reporting from various BD related events.
4. Adding new server hardware.
5. Adding new server bandwidth.
6. etc.

ya. except the goofball part. I keep alluding their hammer. i'm what businesses reffer to as NVA no value added. except when someone PMs me for help.

but this site is pretty well run. members self moderate and the mods step in when needed. now if they has a benefit such as special deals or promo codes to amazon for being a paying member i'd be down.

Like Iceman said, if you want to help the site, one of the best things you can do to contribute to the site financially, in a roundabout way, is to purchase your discs through the Amazon links on our movie and review pages. Our reviewers work very hard to bring you new and catalogue reviews as soon and as often as possible. Supporting Blu in general, contributing to the site in a positive manner, and being a good ambassador for the Blu-ray format in general are also excellent ways to to support the cause.
