Probably never, being that this movie really only has a small cult following. This happens to be one of my favorite movies and I think the only reason why many people have watched it outside of the theatre is because of word of mouth. The gunfight at end of this movie ranks up there with the gunfight in Heat.

I'm not even sure who Artisan falls under.

I like this movies too and also own it on DVD. Being that it was released by Artisan which is now Lionsgate, there is a good chance that it will come to Blu-ray, but not in the foreseeable future. It bombed badly at the box office when it was released in theaters.

Also, I'm not sure it would look much better on Blu-ray than the DVD version.

Which is exactly why I don't see a BD release in the future at all. I bought 4 of these movies for $8.99 at BB to give to friends who haven't seen it. They all had good things to say about the movie after watching it.

The only time you would see this show up would be a blu has a strong enough hold like dvd does now or if they came out with somw type of box set that had it as part of it.

That's not true. Bug which was also released by Lionsgate earlier this year made only $8 million worldwide. That's dismal by any standard. Still, Lionsgate is releasing it on Blu-ray in January 2008.

I just checked, The Way of the Gun made $13 million worldwide when it was released in 2000. So, there is hope.
