Wow! That is glorious. I may have to pick this up for the cover art alone.

Wow,.. how ****in' stupid is that. An awesome 80s SciFi Fantasy film packaged with two lowbrow "comedies". Here's an idea, why not package a Set Rogen film with The Ten Commandments. Yet one more release that's a waste. Just do more unreleased catalog titles.

I'm assuming you haven't seen "Ted", because you seem to think the pairing Is random,

it's not.

I think it's funny and clever of Universal to package them like this. As a fan of Flash Gordon, one might just want to buy the movie separately, but if you want the Ted movies, just look at the Flash Gordon as a Bonus Feature, which you can laugh at and help you understand the references in the Ted movies. Where's the harm in that? It is a bit pricey, though, but unless it's limited, I'm sure it will come down.

It's not like Universal are choosing to release this over a new catalog title. This is an easy bundle for them to make, and it's pretty awesome to boot.

I really wish someone would release a blu-ray collection of the Filmation Flash Gordon series, along with the original televised animated feature Flash Gordon: The Greatest Adventure of All.

But making new cover art obviously takes just as much resources as remastering a new catalog title.

Painting/design = audio/video remastering?? in terms of resources?

There was actually a Flash Gordon-themed poster used to promote Ted 2

Looks like they just had to add text and Flash Gordon on top of Marky-Mark.
Not too time consuming it seems.

But they did have to create a new spine and back cover too, don't forget.

Looks like Flash Gordon might have been painted by Alex Ross, who did the cover art for the Saviour of the Universe edition.

Edit: Correction, I just realized that's the same Flash from the original movie poster, who I just discovered was done by Richard Amsel.
