from the look of that (assuming it is correct) mgs might be a december 1st title. man i hope so

Needless to say: If the improbable happened and that title made it in time for Christmas this year?

i agree. everything i have heard says late '07. however, if that was FUD leaked to make this the hottest game ever, i can deal with it.

yeah. cant trust anyhting on that site. The splinter cell game :double agent has been canceled for the ps3, killing any credibility they have. Devil may cry 4 is slated for spring 2007.

Most of the really good games are coming out in the spring.

These are excellent titles if you care about the genre at all.

I play these on the PC, so it doesn't effect me personally, but this is not good news for the PS3.

It's probably an exclusive 360 game because Sony wanted them to make it a 1080p title for the PS3. They might have said that's too much work.

That's too bad.

I'm not sounding an alarm or anything, but I'm getting mildly troubled by the continued "dropping out" of titles like these.

These kinds of titles should be easy multiplatform ports and no system should be excluded.

i doubt it has anything to do with too much work. i think it has more to do with microshafts deep pockets. they're willing to pay to make a title that should be great exclusive to their platform as well as pc

MS's deep pockets and in the short term the lack of immediate return on PS3 - there won't be many big sales for a while.

But MS do seem to be swiping a few big names lately and even though GTA4 is PS3 too, they've grabbed some downloadable content (though of course PS3 could have their own stuff too)

Still, on the other hand it's interesting that MS have suddenly started a major offensive against Sony - the add on drive, 1080p, snapping up games; it's all designed to pull consumers toward their console, but once PS3 actually arrives, the Xbox360 will be last years news and all the media focus will be on Sony - so you can't blame MS for wanting to bathe in the limelight while they can...

I am going to an AV show on Nov 3rd and they have a playable PS3 console on show - I'll queue as long as it takes to get my hands on it...

It's kind of a chicken and egg argument, though isn't it?

Content sells hardware?

Games sell systems?

Exactly right.

I'm still not clear on how the heck MS is actually going to be able to do all of the above with the existing 360 hardware.

I am going to an AV show on Nov 3rd and they have a playable PS3 console on show - I'll queue as long as it takes to get my hands on it...
