Default QC poor on BD's & HDDVD's?

So everytime I go to buy a new BD or HDDVD i painstakingly go through each package on the shelf to pick out the one thats in the best shape, least amount of wrinkles, dents and other weird issues i've seen with the paper insert damaged, sticking out, or not cut correctly.

Well I picked up end of Days (HDDVD) and Corpse Bride/Sword fish and got them home and opened them all up. I like to open them immediately just to make sure everything is ok and also to take off those security stickers because it seems the longer you leave them on the harder the goo is to get off. So I open up them all, and i'm in the habit now of cleaning them right out of the package (because people on avs claim they come dirty from the factory) so for good measure i give them a once over with the monster screen cleaner/microfiber towel. I get to my corpse bride Blu Disc, and I flip it over and there is like 10 long deep scratches on one side of the disc. At first I thought maybe it was some kind of film on it, but then i ran my finger over it and my nail got stuck in each groove from the scratches. Now, fortunately I just bought this and can take it back today no problem...but what if I didn't open this for a month or two?
They'd think I did this!!!

I've also had several disc cases where the part you open on the side where it snaps close (IE disney BD's or "Unleashed" on HDDVD) have had broken tabs and then that flap wouldn't close. Also another disc where the security sticker was on cock eyed and covering part of the "HDDVD" logo on the top and when i peeled it off, the paint went with it. now some people may be saying who cares it's just a case! But when this stuff is $25-$30 & Some $40 so when I get issues with cracked cases etc. they go back. I'm a collector...i want my stuff to be nice not all ratty...this is not acceptable.

Have you guys had any weird QA issues?

Also I once bought "The Mask" with Jim Carey on DVD and it was cracked in two inside the case. also Have gotten several DVD's in the past where the thumb section you push in to get the DVD out was all broken inside (I exchanged them)
