Default Kid's cartoons these days

I don't want to sound like I'm going on a old man rant, but this is just an observation I've made recently about a lot of kid's cartoons on now.

We've been chord cutters for a long time, but we do have Sling now with Cartoon Network, XD, and Boomerang, so my kids watch a fair amount of shows on there. Is it me or are many of the shows just weird for the sake of being weird? It's like we have a generation of animators who grew up on Ren and Stimpy and decided that the cartoons should be weird for no reason now.

I enjoy Teen Titans Go, Rebels, and my wife has always loved the Powerpuff girls, but there seems to be a lot of nonsense on now.

I'll be the first to admit I'm a man child, so I don't think it's just me getting old LOL.

Could not agree more, bring back those great Hanna-Barbera cartoons!

Awhile back my brother and I were at a pizza place for lunch, and one of the TVs was tuned to Cartoon Network. I don't know what the cartoon was that was playing but I remember watching it and saying "This is just . . . weird." It was a bit of a distance so I couldn't hear the dialog clearly but just based on the actions happening on-screen and some of the visuals, it seemed really strange and bizarre. Even a little trippy at times from what I recall.

I don't mean to sound like a "kids these days" kind of guy, and I'm sure there are some cartoons out there that are perfectly fine. Just saying I've definitely noticed a sort of weirdness in some of today's cartoons, so I know where the OP is coming from.
