Default LG's “3D Depth” Setting

LG's "3D Depth" Setting:

Note: There are two 3D Mode features:
1) 3D Depth = Affects Object separation and distance.

2) 3D Viewpoint = Convergence calibration
"Shifting the whole image is what the "3D Viewpoint" calibration control achieves and the results experienced from changing the value of that setting changes placement of the 3D image. The "View" control default setting @ center 0 value of convergence placement is verified at the screen's depth using Spears & Munsil HD Benchmark 3D stereoscopic calibration and evaluation patterns. Center 0 is the accurate setting for the director intended placement of the 3D image."

Not my experience.

LG's "3D Depth" Setting:
Using a below 10 setting (10 is default) decreases depth:
Go to Jungle Book 3D 'Chapter '11' and compare how the background looks to the foreground.

Then change the setting to "14" and check out the remarkable 3D spacing between background and animals frolicking inside the tree's inner and outer branches, the birds pushed-apart, and even the greater distance between Mowgli and other animals. There is no rotoscope compositing artifacts or noticeable algorithm-averaging here that should become apparent with an increase in depth. Each figure is a solid shape entity. The background behind, foreground in front, looking like native-3D, subjects not attached to adjacent pixels, just accurate recognizable figure forms.
