PS3 Game reviews accurate @ gamespot?

Folks,

I've been researching the gamespot PS3 game reviews and I'm wondering how accurate they are. Based on the numerous comments I've seen here and in other places I'm sort of confused about their ratings. I recently picked up COD4 and Heavenly Sword based on a lot of these positive comments and I'm thinking of getting Drake's and Assasin's Creed. Curious why Heavenly and Drake are lower than a lot of other games when many say they are two of the best games on the PS3. Any comments?
