So, it's very weird to see it listed this early, and also without any other Marvel/Disney movies being listed I do suspect this is an error by the store.
But if not, yay!

Edit: When I think about it, this could be Sony pushing this

Too early to be legit really, but since it's officially a Sony movie it should get a UHD release, I am sure.

Should also be a 4k/3D combo (always like those). Depending on Disney's plans for the format, barring an Incredible Hulk re-release from Universal, this will likely be the first MCU film on UHD.

Sony seem to have wound down the 4K/3D combos if the most recent Resi and Underworld releases are any indication.

But yeah, this is Sony so a UHD release is as certain as water being wet.

Wrong

Disney/Marvel is handling home video as well

Marvel Studios produced it, Sony is distributing, which means they have final say on whether or not it gets a UHD release.

Can't believe I'm saying this
but Ihavecandygetnthevan is right, Sony distributes the theatrical release and Disney does the Home release.

How is that possible look at the incredible hulk Marvel produced the film but Universal has the distribution rights and they were the ones to make and release the DVDs and Blu Rays not Marvel/Disney.

It's all about contracts really, how they divide things. I can't imagine Disney getting home media rights to this, but it's technically possible for that to be in their contract. Sony would be pretty stupid to have given those away though, IMO.

Because it's Marvel that makes this movie they decide how things are handled.....because Spider-Man The Homecoming is a part of the MCU and want it to connect to the rest of the movies Marvel has given Disney the rights to home media.

"While Sony is releasing Spider-Man homecoming in theaters, we at BVHE have the Video Distribution rights, to make sure it fits into the Marvel Universe. and that we can package it as part of Phase 3."

I'm pretty sure I recall reading when it was first announced that Sony has all distribution rights to Spider-Man in the contract.

Whoever has the home video rights, it has nothing to do with the continuity and MCU-ness of things that fandom obsesses over. It's simply a business arrangement.
