Tell us which one....

If it's the type with Dolby 5.1, you can pretty much use it. Better if it has HDMI (I think one of them does), or at worst, an optical connection for audio.

You should be able to use it, but throw out some details.

Default Casino Royale Bond Girls are Forever

Unable to post any new thread so got to do it here. First, Blu-Ray is fantastic once you get it set up and understand that the Sony BDP S300 using HDMI does not or can't not "read" what kind of disc you put in it i.e. it does not tell the difference between a regular DVD or a Blu-Ray disc and thus you will get the video "blinking" (on/off) if not set at the proper video format (to do this you will need to find the button on the remote which is directly under the number "9").

Standard DVDs can NOT play at 1080P and ONLY Blu-Ray disc can play at 1080P and ONLY at 1080P. That is you can't play a Blu-Ray disc at 1080i or 720p it MUST be at 1080P.

Another tip is treat your Blu-Ray Player more like a computer than a DVD player. GIVE IT TIME TO RESPOND/THINK.

Now my question to the experienced. I went out and bought Casino Royale Blu-Ray Disc But, I can't get the "Bond Girls are Forever (2006)" to play under special features. All I get is a blank blue screen and "MENU" appearing on my player. I can't do anything. It just freezes my player. I can't turn it off by the remote and I can't turn it off at the player. All I can do is un-plug the player. WHAT CAN I DO to view the "Bond Girls" special feature of the disc?

Thanks.......

(Don't tell me I have to use my PC to play the disc because I don't have Blu-Ray disc players on my PC)

S___!...Just found the answer.....It has to be played in Standard HIgh Definition".....Back to the HDTV.....

False.

You can play Blu-ray movies at any resolution..but it will only play in 1080p with HDMI.

Uh yeah, not sure what you're saying here other than it's mostly wrong. The S300 will output to whatever your TV supports as long as it's HDMI and only to 1080i if via component.

Not sure what your blinking issue is other than you have something setup wrong. Check your firmware version and post more info on your setup.

How does one check their "firmware version"?

Setup:
Mitsubishi 65" 1080P HDTV
Sony BDP S300 Blu-Ray Player (HDMI from player direct to HDTV)
Denon AVR-1506 A/V Surround Sound Receiver (Optical Audio line from player direct to the AVR-1506)

It's in the manual.

If you need to upgrade follow the Firmware link at the top.

I downloaded and saved the file....I then tried "burning" it to a disc.....

I'm stuck...only making data discs.....how do I use my "burn image" option of my CD burning software? I have no third party burning software...I'm running Vista 64 bit....and quite honestly don't really do alot of burning.........

CD Burning Notes:
Do not create a data disc. In order for the update disc to work, you must create it using the "Burn Image" option of your CD burning software.
....How?

Instead of downloading and saving the update should I just "run" the update on my PC and hopefully it will ask me where to put the files and I'll try and direct them to the CD-R in my drive?....little lost here.......

I appreciate all the help....I clicked on the sony download instructions where sony will send you a free cd/update/firmware directly to your home...I'm tired and pissed........Why should I be downloading software I know nothing about to get a sony update?.....Anyway, sony says the cd will ship in 24 hours..

Again, thanks for the help and have a great 2008!
